If Iowa wanted more they would try to do more. Take a gamble and make Kirk retire and try a different coach. Kirk does well but do you see Iowa getting to the playoffs with him?
actions speak louder than words. Keep Kirk and that is an action that Iowa is in fact happy with 7-8-9 wins.
His point is correct. Since Iowa’s last 7 win season (2014), they average 9.3 wins a season. Not counting this year and the Covid year (6-2). They can still get to 9 wins this season with its toughest schedule in a long *** time. So yes, that narrative is old and out dated.

In the last five FULL seasons Iowa has won 10 games in three of those. And 8 games in the other two. Iowa hasn’t has as a losing record in 13 years.

Trust me many times I’ve wanted KF gone after games but probably not as much as Nebraska fans want him gone.
Literally no one knows that stuff...or cares.

I hope your coach stays there even longer so that he can pad his stats of being the all time losingest coach in conference history, which is remarkable.

Do you know bad at coaching you have to be to have that many losses.

You don't want him gone because you have been trained to think that a #WinningSeason is all that matters.

Because like Minnesota, for some reason, they enjoy beating us more than other programs.

Our history of greatness is not lost on them. So if they can serve up the humble pie, nice and cold, they’re gonna do that. How many Nebraska kids play meaningful minutes for the Huskers? At Iowa, it’s more than a handful. Just means more to them.
You seem desperate and realize that our new OU and TX is now Minnesota and Iowa. We couldn’t hold OU’s jockstrap and candidly not sure we can Iowa the last decade.

Way to bring up how great we were last century. So was Yale!!

Since this was GIVEN to be that automatic 3rd year magic, only those who were singing that double-digit win nonsense should be eating the crow. So, this board is jumping to extremes, yet you have NU at 9-4? LOL

Honestly, you sound like an 8th grader.
Optimism is a fan’s prerogative. It could be even admirable. Not so much for a gambler. I can remember as a kid going in to bowl games after OU ripped my heart out laying out how if all the bowl games fell right NU could still win a title. 🥴

Good lord, now we are just counting the last 7 seasons but not all those seasons, just some of them.

If you have that many * next to how you count up a a record...you suck. It is that simple. And it is okay to admit that.

You created an amazing argument for a coach with more losses than anyone in the history of the conference.

This is not one of Iowa's best tackling teams. Johnson is a very good back that breaks tackles and keeps moving his legs for extra yards. He is hard to bring down and if Iowa does not wrap him up he could have a big day. Iowa also has had issues with running QB. I have been impressed with Lateef with the position he was put in.
I think it comes down to who stops the run game and controls the ball. The more established long drives, keeping the other defense on the field will help that team.
Just my thoughts.

I told my co-worker who is an Iowa fan that Iowa (Sux) would be stupid if they threw the ball more than 5 times and they would easily win.

I love your optimism but don’t share it. 😕
It's going to be a close game because that's what Iowa does. They lost to Oregon at the last second, then on the other side of the spectrum, they beat hapless MSU at the last second. It's who they are.

We're at home, it's senior day, we'll be celebrating never having to watch Corcoran or Lutovsky try to block again. How can you not be fired up about that?!

It’s probably similar to the folks who come and visit you at “the home” on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s nice that they still let you use technology, though.
How did you know I lived at "the home" and why would you make fun of that? A lot of people struggle and need help and assistance.

I make a sincere comment about people getting help in the community and you respond like that? Classless. Do better, please.

You must of missed the part where I said "IF". You sound like you have the reading comprehension of an 8th grader. And to conclude in the season predictions thread i had Nebraska finishing 8-4. Gonna stick to my prediction there slick.

It's hard for me to tell, watching on TV, but it looked like we played a lot of zone against Penn St. And if so, WhyTF would we play zone vs a team that runs the ball like that?
Played zone and did a ****** job of it. Hard to figure this d coordinator out. ****** game plan.

Problem is Iowa doesn’t have any game breaking RBs. Only one run of 30+ yards from a RB all season. Can they run for 6+ yards enough times to not pass? Idk.

My retort came not because of the posters optimism, (the board is full of them), rather the idea that some would have to eat crow. I hope he knows we're talking about a football game.

Trust me, I don't spend time looking at all the remaining BIG games trying to figure out how NU can move from 9th in the league standing to 8th.

IF the dog wouldn't have stopped to sh*t, he would have caught the big rabbit.

My point is projecting NU to win 2 in a row hasn't been a given for awhile.

Because playing man to man, the D doesn’t need to block, they just run the defender out of the play. In a zone you spread out facing the QB playing your zone with everything in front of you. You can come forward or run support quicker and easier in zone.

Do you know why Iowa fans like bringing the family to Lincoln to watch a football game?

You feel safe because Husker fans won't **** your wives in the bathroom.

How is Lois Feldman doing these days?

Iowa is tough, but I think we beat them. Iowa is favored by 5 in the early line, but I bet that line goes down. I think we pull out all of the stops and come out super focused. The only thing that makes me nervous is that Iowa is like Penn State and it's not a good match up for us. They are physical, tough and they run the ball well.
Line is currently at Iowa -6.5.

Like I said, two lame soft teams.

One with a coach that should have been fired years ago and one with a coach that should not have been hired.

This is a classic match up! Iowa fans live for this day because they are jealous of what NU has done in the past 30 years. While they have been convinced by their coach and old AD that it is not possible for a school from a "small state" to ever hope for more than that magical #WinningSeason

That’s because they haven’t played against Nebraska’s defense yet…Iowa won’t have to pass much. Wish this wasn’t true, but wish in one hand….
