Believes we are heading in the right direction? And that he claims the emails, tweets, facebook or whatever - are running 90 % in favor of the direction of the program? I guess he'd lie or try anything to cover up the mess he's made with the coaching hire, but how stupid does he think Husker fans are?

From some of the posts I have seen lately, there are some pretty stupid Husker fans.

What is he supposed to say? I'm not the biggest fan of this coaching staff but I don't expect the AD to come out and criticize them like the fans would. They have a professional obligation that we as fans do not have..

Well nobody is talking about our coach being an a-hole so that is an improvement. Let them get a class or two under their belt. POB looks li,e a solid start to change things. We have needed a stud at QB for I don't know 15 yrs +

Ok 14 yrs I think we all understand what I meant.

I'm in total agreement with you. I'm not saying that Riley is a lock to turn the program around. I just think that if you know anything about the wreckage that Pelini left behind then you have to give Riley time to turn it around.

That comment was made a few weeks ago. Pretty bush league to try and tie that comment to him after the NW game.

Have anyone's feelings changed due to the NW loss? Did that surprise you because it didn't surprise me. Either what Eichorst said was a bold faced lie or his head is in the sand. Either way, he deserves to be called to the carpet for what we're experiencing this year.

This is on SE and the other power-brokers within the program. Saturday's outcome further cements their legacy.

These insufferable performances will not be tolerated.

You're not living in reality. None of which you said is true or will happen. You've had your pitchfork and rail ready since the before the season began. Nice try.

Come on, everybody, he's supposed to throw Riley under the bus and tell us what he really believes, because riley sucks. Can't understand why he hasn't done that yet...

I am guessing he must have hired Butters to filter out all the negative comments. He must be in his safe space.

I can't even respond because I feel like you just started hitting buttons on a keyboard, said I had a pitchfork and pressed SEND. What's not true? That people were incredibly negative before the NW game? That SE's hire has led us to a mediocre season so far? What exactly isn't reality?

I have to admit...I was a little shocked by the NW game. NW has looked awful the past 2 games against Io_a and Meatchicken. Nebraska looked like they maybe they turned the corner against Minnesota. I expected Nebraska to win big.

It does not bother me now, and it didn't bother me when he said it. He's the boss, he hired Riley. He has to evaluate him over a period of more than one year. If we would've been blown out in every single game, there might be a reason to waffle. But, Eichorst's success can be tied to Riley's success, especially if Riley's level of success/failure falls to one extreme or another. Any unsupportive move by Eichorst at this point is a negative reflection upon Eichorst's ability to manage (i.e. only an idiot would hire another idiot). I have no reason to believe that any harsh words will be spoken by Eichorst concerning Riley, ever.

I thought we would win too but I also felt we could lose if we played like we did against Illinois. Frustrated, pissed off, bewildered...sure. Surprised, unforunately no.

I would say a lot of opinions have changed since then. At that point, I would say a lot of Husker fans likely agreed with SE or at least were indifferent about it. I would say that was especially the case after the Minnesota win. The NW changed things in the eyes of quite a few. I have no problem with holding SE accountable. But that comment was 2 weeks ago and before the NW loss. My guess is he might describe things a bit differently at this point.
