not as a head guy at I-A. Coordinator, maybe. He proved he is incapable of being a I-A head coach already.

The Millsaps OC was a GA under Hal Mumme last year who tutored Mike Leach when he was coming up in the ranks.

Food for thought...

I think we need to get away from, and that is old coaches.

The Visor, Fulmer, Stallings ect are all good coaches. However, State needs ENERGY. The level of apathy is at an all time high.

I remember when Jackie resigned I got excited because I thought at least we'll get a young up and comer to pump a little life in this place.

No such luck. We hired Croom and my excitement splatted like a turd. I've been sad and pissed off about State football ever since.

John Cohen is a perfect example. Most excited I've seen State folks over a hire since Jackie.

Folks, we need HOPE and ENERGY. I'm tired of safe and calm.

....that's exactly how Ole Miss got saddled with Eddie O for three years.

He, like Croom, was not qualified for the job. Anybody could see that idiot was a joke from day one, well, except for Boone,Kyhat and Rebel Fan.

Graham, Hatcher, Martin, etc have proven themselves enough for me.

that Ole Miss hired O because no one else wanted the job and they couldn't find anyone else.

When they brought him in, I'm pretty sure the hope was that he could recruit- which was supposedly his strength- and then turn the program over to someone competent- like Nutt. All O was was a caretaker.

Dubose has probably learned a heckuva lot since his stint in D1. He is running Texas Tech-like offense and just beating the stuffing out of everyone he is playing. It will be interesting to see how he does against the D3 big boys that win the title every year. If Dubose can win a title at Millsaps, I think he should get at least some consideration. As a Millsaps grad, I would like to see him stay, but if he keeps winning, that isn't likely.

Their QB is lights out, but of course, he won't make it to the Conerly Trophy ceremony........

Says he loves the place. I remember reading an article once about how much he loved D-III football. He said that if it wasn't for the money, most other major college coaches would coach division III.

Now, if someone were to throw some major money his way, he'd probably split.

As it is, he has a pretty good situation. He had over 75 freshmen come out for the team this year, and has 120 on the roster. He promised every one of them they could suit up, he has extra numbers for everyone. I even heard he has Junior Varsity teams who play all the time. I know that when I see them practice across the street from where I work, it reminds me of those old, big-time high schools and colleges from the 1960's and 1970's, who had 100-150 people out for football. Nowadays, the cost of equipment is too high, and the price a football player has to pay in order to pay is way too much, for more than a few dozen at most small colleges.

think he would make a good DC for somebody. Definitely a good OL/DL coach. If he could recruit (can't go by Bama days as my dog could recruit there) & he had learned to beat the shat out of smart mouth players that told him to 17 off, I might consider him (plus he appeared to meddle too much in the offensive game plan @ Bama).

We have enough walk-ons to field a team, and I'm sure every other school in the SEC does to. I would kind of like to see us have junior varsity football at MSU, and in the SEC for that matter. The team could play on Thursday nights, and I think it would be cool if they played people like Ole Miss, Bama, USM, LSU, and some of the JUCO's in the state like Hinds, Pearl River, and Gulf Coast. There could be some rules like the players can not be on the active SEC roster of 70 something, or whatever it is and players that are going to RS would be eligible to play.

There are a lot of players that work hard helping the team practice, and are on the team because they love MSU and MSU football. They probably could go to Millsaps or MC and play, but they choose to help us out. I'd think it would be cool to reward them with some playing time. Teams could also evaluate their incoming Fr. that are RS in game conditions, and we could also foster some relationships with the JUCO's.

I'm sure it comes down to money, though.

He doesn't dominate like his accolades say he should, but he is still clearly our best O-lineman. If an Ole Miss player wins it, it will be Oher.

he may have moved into best the last few games. Potential is what the nfl looks at. Until recently he had never played up to his.

You only play him because Sean Touhy will blow the whistle on y'all if he doesn't start. It's quite evident considering where he should be on the depth chart.
