I think we're in. If we win out and win one game, it's possible if the right other bubble teams struggle. Just my guess though.

Like OP said, win the next two and then two in the SEC tourney will lock it up, especially because the two in the tourney would be over Tennessee and Kentucky.

I still think 2-0 this week and 1-1 in the SEC tourney with a win over UT and a loss to UK might be enough given where our RPI and the rest of our resume would stand.

If we win the next 4 though, it wouldn't matter what we did on Sunday of the tourney, we'd be in.

We won't win the next 4, but the answer to your question is still no at this point..

If we lose one of our next two, then the answer to your question becomes yes, we have to win the tourney.

ETA: Reply fail, meant to reply to DS.

They could get in a couple of ways.

Beat LSU and Arkansas, then reach Saturday in the SEC Tournament, and I think they are in.
Beat LSU and Arkansas, and have us lose to Auburn and Tennessee, and I think they have a shot.

Ole Miss' danger is, short of winning the SEC Tournament, anything they do is going to make them one of the last few teams selected (while we can play ourselves up to a solid 9/10 seed). Ole Miss is an 11/12 seed at best. If a lot of upsets start happening in conference tournaments (especially Horizon, MVC, Pac 10, WCC, A-10, CAA, where there are guaranteed at-large bids), they would be one of the teams in danger of being knocked out.

You know the SEC is not down this year, just the WEST. I think we could get 6 teams in.

to have a chance- that would make them 21-9 with a decent RPI heading into the SEC Tourney

the win over K-State. They are more than likely going to be in the top 5 when the new polls come out today, and the other they have going for them is no bad losses in non-conference. The one bad thing they have going for them is 0-2 against State. I really don't see 6 SEC teams making it, so the last spot will be between State and OM.

One more time, the committee does not look at conference affiliation. State's results down the stretch have no more to do with our standing with the committee than UConn, Marquette, Arizona State, or any other bubble team with the exception of how your results affect our resume in terms of Top 50 record, etc.

If it were to come down to the last at large bid, and we had resumes that the committee saw as almost equal, then your sweep of us would give you the nod. Otherwise, whether the SEC gets 4, 5, or 6 teams in is strictly up to how Florida, State, and Ole Miss finish individually.

They won't leave any of us out because the SEC has too many bids. If the resume warrants a bid, it'll warrant a bid. That's the way they do it.
