Does Porter break any laws by constantly outing recruits on their ACT scores?...

...I've always seen Rosebowl avoid it like the plague when asked what he knows specifically about a kid's grades, but Porter has always volunteered the info without any problem.

Today he claims to know Pat Patterson just got back a 17 on the ACT and that it "matches" his core GPA (I assume he's referring to the sliding scale for the clearing house) ......but Porter obviously got the info second hand so I doubt he had permission from Patterson himself to put the info out there.

Who's right? Rosebowl or Porter?

/I have my suspicions, but figured some lawyer-type could clarify.

So, either the rules have changed since then (I didn't notice it on a quick search a minute ago) or it's not illegal.

Rivals still lists ACT scores. They list 4-star WR commit Chris Smith's score as a 25.

if he's getting the information from people associated with schools that various students are attending then the sources would be violating FERPA regulations. Porter, on the other hand, would not be in trouble.

This ACT score is meaningless unless we know what he made on the English portion.

How in the hell does someone only make a 17 on the ACT? My airhead cheerleader niece made a 25. Hell, I've been called an idiot and a dubmass here before, and I made a 26. You really have to be a mouthbreather to make only a 17.......

Okay okay, I was just bragging about me and my niece.

standardized tests and the volatility of the both the ACT and the SAT when considering factors such as ethnicity and socio-economic status.

As long as we are throwing out scores, I scored a 32 on the ACT and 1470 out of 1600 on the SAT... but I got trashed the night before the SAT and had to pee most of the time I was taking it.

I played a football game the night before (for Meridian High, of course), took the test at 8 AM the next morning, then went straight from there to work at the supermarket. Hell, if I had tutors and untimed tests I'd have made a 36 easy.

Chris Smith's 25 goes to show that Coach larry Weems and Meridian High is taking the players' academics seriously.
