It will not heal on its on. He will not pitch again this year. Cohen is just stringing everyone along. He will have surgery to fix it but I do not know if it will be tommy john. Kendall Graveman will start tomorrow against Tennessee
and was sitting behind me at the Ark series-he does have a torn UCL and would be out for 3-4 weeks for sure and they will evaluate him at that point. The player said it's possible he coould pitch then (according to the coaches) but he didn't see him coming back. Said he will have TJ surgery at some point-maybe at the end of 3-4week rest or after the season. He also said that the coaches changed his delivery which in his opinion along with pitching him twice in one week when he was already having pain f***ed his arm up.
when you have CC Watson hurt, Brownlee hurt, Parks, hurt, Dixon hurt, Bussey hurt, Pace hurt, Rawdow hurt and we are redshirting Byrd, Hannah, and Miller. He can dress out and we will still be under 30.
Murray was saying today that Routt might pitch midweek. Allegedly, it was Routt's biceps that was hurt, and that's not a part of the UCL- ulnar collateral ligament. It might be referred pain from a tear though.
Personally, this is how I feel about Routt- we need to do whatever is best for him and we really need to treat him with kid gloves. If that means shutting him down for the year so be it, because the very best that we would likely do this year is just simply go to a regional. And if that's the best we can do this year, I would rather not mortgage his long term future on a year where we maybe are a three seed or not going at all.
Now, I have not heard anything about CC Watson being hurt, but it wouldn't shock me because a pitcher losing velocity is often times a red flag that an injury has occured.
And Paxton Pace is out for the year. He did have Tommy John surgury and is done.
