So......the "cadets" aren't actually in any branch of the armed services, correct?

ETA: Wikipedia say- The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets (often The Fightin' Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets, The Corps of Cadets, or simply the Corps) is a student military organization at Texas A&M University. Established with the University in 1876, it is the oldest student organization on campus.
Approximately 42 percent of the members of the Cadet Corps receive a commission in the United States Armed Forces upon graduation; when off-campus commissioning sources are included, such as the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class, that percentage climbs to over 50 percent.

One of my friends who's a Baylor grad told me when the news came out that they were coming to the SEC, "yeah you are going to find out that they A&M fans are really really weird."

An Aggie corpsman charged SMU cheerleaders with a drawn sword back in the 80's.

Presumably it was against tradition for cheerleaders to be on the field. I happened to be watching the game. This crazed corpsman comes charging out off the sideline, drawn sword, and it looks like he's going to run one through with his sword. I'm thinking WTF, he's gonna kill one of them. He stops short of plunging his sword in anyone - he's screaming at them, pushing and kicking at them then they decide to take the fight back to him with superior numbers - then security arrives to save the aggie's ***.

I found a youtube clip, but it just shows the very end of it

I've only known one A&M grad well, and I can assure you that he was weird, way stranger than your normal engineer. I think he would have been that way regardless of what school he attended though.

Im down with tradition, but their's seem a tad gay. Makes you wonder if they go over the top so much just to try and be better than UT at something, anything?
