in stone or is a fluid situation, depending on losses to Ark/OM and how lopsided? Personally, I think this situation is still dynamic and a lot can change

i think there is still alot of hope by some idiots that Crooms is going to pull off two big wins to finish the season- should he do that, it changes things immensly and gives him much more of a leg to stand on at 5-7 with a win over Mississippi.

However, should he go 3-9 and fall flat on his face, there is not much he can say is is much more at the mercy of Byrne.

This Saturday is huge for our program- we really need UPig to do to us what they normally do- for the betterment of our program and to help rid us of the Croominator

I think it doesn't demand so much on if we win the last two. It is probably more about what changes he makes to the staff.

This is another easily beatable team. If we can't muster a touchdown or two on this team and get dominated, it will be the end of the CountyLakeOffense and possibly Croom.

pisses off our fan base. Especially when it also sends them to a pretty good bowl and we have to sit at home and listen to our lazy assed social experiment quote uhh uhh Churchill and blame everything and everybody but himself for his ineptness.

Sure if we come out the next two weeks and look like a competent SEC football team, things could change for Croom. But I don't see that happening.

We bring in a new OC. We suck again next year. Croom is then fired. Byrne makes a good hire but it's still a year too late. I hope I'm wrong, that being said.

Here on Six Pack, critical mass was reached, prolly after the GT game. But out there, critical mass hasn't been reached and may not be reached if we beat ark and om.

If OM embarrasses us, like in 2003, the poster believes critical mass is reached on Croom and GB will have no choice but to shitcan him and the rest of the staff.

I still think two bad losses could mean Crxxm's job. Whereas two wins probably means Crxxm can get by with minimal changes to the coaching staff.

What were Croom's dumbass goals for this year??

Win the West? BIG FAIL
Win the SECCG? BIG FAIL
Beat BAMA? BIG FAIL
Beat Ole Miss? TBD

He has already failed 3 of his 4 goals. If he fails ALL 4 of the goals he set, shouldn't that be reason enough to can his dumb ***?

...if Ole Miss beats State's *** in the Egg Bowl (which is likely), Croom is gone.

Regrettably, both Ole Miss & MSU usually use the Egg Bowl outcome as the ultimate litmus test as to whether a failing coach should remain or be fired.

........a damn thing? It's still a losing season, and more importantly two stinking wins don't make up for five years of inept offense, special teams, and overall coaching.

But then again, it would just figure if winning these two games did somehow make such a big difference. After all, We.....are........mother17ing M-STATE.

my apathy has finally turned to dispair. i just don't think byrne is going to pull the trigger twice in his first 12 months on the job. he may push the issue of shifting woody out of the OC position but i just don't think he will flat out fire croom. the mstate fan in me says it won't change. hopefully i will be surprised but i really think I will have a boatload of time on my hands over the summer and next fall.

I honestly think going 5-7 would piss me off more than going 3-9, especially if it meant Croom stays.

Mainly because I'd spend all off-season playing the "what if" game....what if we make 2 freaking field goals (1 against Auburn, 1 against Kentucky), what if we don't turn the ball over 5 times against La. Tech (and Ga. Tech).

If nothing else Croom needs to go just because he promoted Stringer to Special Teams coach when the guy doesn't know how to coach kickers. Seriously, WTF? Oh yeah, and his offense still sucks *** in year 5 so he's failed as a head coach by fielding pure incompetence on 2 of 3 squads.

"blame everything and everybody but himself for his ineptness"

And then turn around and claim that he was protecting the players and taking the blame rather than them.

I'd have to say that critical mass was actually reached after the La Tech loss. I wanted to put my fist through someones face after that loss.

Crxxm will be our coach next season. Period. Only way this doesn't happen is if he retires (fires himself as he put it).
