Doesnt the vote have to be 12-0 to add a school?

If thats true, this realignment stuff might not work out like ppl think. A&M i can see, but just up and adding several teams is very serious in changing the dynamic of the conference. If I was a president i would want alot of info before i voted. Whatever Slive has been cooking it might not taste good to everybody in the conference. And the ESPN report...i dont think they know anymore than we did 3 days ago.

Page 3 ofthe SEC Constitutioncovers membership. One of the bylaws on the matter states:

3.1.2 Granting of Membership.
Membership may be granted by invitation of the Conference at a regular
or called meeting. A three-fourths vote of members is required to extend
an invitation for membership. [Revised 5/30/91]

You have to think that Florida, UGA, and USC all would have a hand shake agreement to vote against any of those three (assuming they are legitimately being looked at) should they be brought up for admission. That leaves just one more school that has to vote against any of those three to kill it. One administration should not be hard to persuade.

in exchange for continued support on cowbells or something else important to us.My understanding is that there are always coalitions being formed to support key interests of the various schools. I'll support your issue if you support mine type deals.

It seems like Georgia, South Carolina and Florida have formed a little axis to keep GT, Clemson and FSU out. One more vote and they have it.

I would have no problem being that vote - LSU, Auburn and Ole Miss are the ones against the cowbells though. Everyone else is fine with them, and things like that there has to be 7 against.

So we need to get something else. I'd honestly think we'd be for Clemson, you could persaude against FSU though.

Is just a formality. You have got to think that the SEC in total has already worked out the yes you are "in"details for a school such as A&M.
A&M is operating under some type of understanding that they will be welcome to join. Don't think we want to embarrass them in this deal.

I suspect much of the SEC meeting will be pointed toward who is #14, how do we offset #13. With in-state opposition to Clemson, and Fla. State, it puts things is a stateof question.

But in this imperfect world we have to react to the opportunity at hand.
