that I've seen a visiting team publically blamed that the stadium is only half full. (and, yes, I still expect 20K Dogs to show up)

What a tool.<div>
</div><div>Everything about this game's low attendance is on UMemphis. The move to Thursday was a Conference USA TV opening. The tickets they sent were endzone seats in a massive and largely empty stadium. And their own team is coming off of a 1-11 season.</div><div>

1) Save the bitching for AFTER the game. There is no way to tell how many MSU fans show up based off of pre-sold tickets knowing damn well that State folks are buying direct from Memphis.

2) Why isn't the Thursday night schedule a good reason for low turnout for the visiting team? If I lived in Jackson, it'd be pretty damn tough for me to drive to Memphis, watch the game, drive back and go to work the next day knowing that I'm about to do the same thing 2 weeks from now when LSU visits Starkville (although, it would be a bit shorter trip). LSU returned some of their tickets for the Thursday night match-up in Starkville and nobody questions their status on the SEC totem pole.

much less for Thursday night games on the road. All blame on how many opposing fans showed up should have been removed when the game got moved to Thursday. I certainly don't blame fans from down in Louisiana for not making a weekday trip to Starkville for our game in a couple of weeks. Not everyone can easily take off work and pull kids out of school for a football game they can sit at home and watch in HD.

People keeping talking about us sending tickets back without including the disclaimer of why they were returned. The tickets were sent back because they gave us tickets in such a bad location.

They have a special link on the Memphis page now for MSU fans for visitor section tickets. Those are the end zone seats we returned.

I just requested the best available seats, which were section in section 121, row 56, seats 24, 25. It doesn't give row location and my fat *** prefers end row seats so I called their ticket office. They were telling me to request specific seats I had to buy season tickets at $200 a piece and a $100 donation. After being transfered around to 2 other people I now have my end row seats in section 121 row 61 for $50 a piece.

Damn right. I'm not taking 2 days off work to go watch us pound the **** out of the worst of CUSA. Had it remained Saturday i would have made a weekend out of it: Tunica, downtown Memphis, etc . They made their choice, 40k MSU fans for a Saturday game and let the SEC take care of the TV or move it to Thursday with a pathetic crowd on "national" Fox sports tv. They should look at the bright side, didn't they have a Thursday game in the recent past where they literally didn't have 5000 fans in the stadium?

Well no **** Mr Caulkins. Yes Alabama and Tennessee who have two of the most fanatical fanbases in America and regularly play in front of around 100,000 fans probably would bring 40K. Since when are we supposed to rival those two in attendance after one bowl year?

I will be there tomorrow and you can bet your *** that at least 20K other State fans will be there too.

Memphis is just pissed because people have caught on to their little scam where visitor tickets for the likes of OM, MSU, and UT cost more than some of their season ticket packages. Everyone by now knows you can waltz up to the Liberty Bowl and buy 'em dirt cheap.

It's bad for the fans and it's bad for the University. The reason I say that it's bad for the University is that it interrupts the class schedule. How can you possibly have a normal class day on a game day? I do like watching the games, because I am a big fan of football, but I'd prefer that they were played at somebody else's college. Plus you destroy the possibility of a fun football weekend. I hope that our leadership starts to take a stand against this nonsense.

It amazes me Memphis has found an SEC team willing to come to that **** hole to play, and who will obviously bring Memphis their largest crowd of the year, yet they don't seem to appreciate it. KICK THEIR ASSES.</p>
