I feel that some interstates between certain cities really need 3 lanes in both directions for the entire distance. Between Memphis and Nashville desperately needs this. Between Memphis and Little Rock and OKCity also. Heck, if I could do it, it would be that way coast to coast on I-40 and I-10. Plus, the Federal Interstate Highway standards need to add a whole foot in width for every lane. Currently, just too tight with how big the big rigs are. Adding width to all road lanes would reduce accidents tremendously.
CMVs are limited to 102 inches and have been since the Federal Aid Highway Act on 1976, unless an oversized load. Big rigs haven't changed. And lots of interstates have been built and repaired since 1976.

Most OTR trucking companies set max speeds. Something like 69 max speed, 71 if you are on the pedal. You rarely see semis just rolling these days unless they are an independent.
The ******* in that situation is the truck in the right lane. They could slow down for 5 seconds and allow the truck on the left to finish passing. But noooo they are going to keep thst foot planted, back up traffic. And then go cry on Facebook and tik tok about some mean driver giving them the finger and how no one watches out for trucks.

This same scenario happens at least twice every time I have to drive up to Memphis. If not that they are whipping their rig into the left lane to pass another as I'm coming up on the left. Effectively dragging their trailer's Mansfield Bar across my front bumper.

You’ll be ok. It’s so hard to get that two minutes back to let them pass**
