I know you can come up with reasons not to do it, but this game tonight tells me Beaver has to go. We can do it this year or wait until after next year or 2027. We had a dadgum bye week and came out and played one of the sloppiest games I’ve ever seen.

A complete and total breakdown across the board. This is Year five.

I know we’re supposed to say things like “I don’t think we should fire Beamer, but…”

But it’s inevitable at this point isn’t it? Maybe you punt the ball and choose to fire him next year or the year after but it’s going to happen, right? If it’s inevitable, just do it and get it over with.

I'll believe when I see it but missing a bowl game this season is completely unacceptable - and making $8M a year in year 5.
If you made a simple pro and con list for Beamer, which side would be longer? I think it’s fairly obvious.

The biggest factor for me is not necessarily the results on the field. It’s the fact that we have consistently looked unprepared during his time here.

The trajectory of the season looks poor at this point. But can you fore him the next season after one of our programs best seasons?

Beyond that, you have the undeniable reality that Beamer completely wasted this season by bringing back arguably the worst offensive line coach in the entire country. We had one of The worst offensive lines in the country the last two seasons and Beemer risked this entire season on that coach… And gave him a huge raise!

That is a fireable offense in and of itself.

We will fire offensive staff before that. OL coach needs to go. Fuller didn’t get a single carry in the first half after his TD run on 4 possessions.
Our last 2 possessions of the 1st half were pitiful.
If we lead the nation in anything, it’s penalties and specifically false starts. I don’t care about injuries, that’s an excuse.

Considering the total mismanagement of this team? I would say absolutely. He blew this entire season by bringing back one of the worst assistance in the entire nation.

This cannot be overlooked. Every single poster on this form has commented about how much different this team would look if only we had a competent offensive line. Well, why don’t we have a competent offensive line? It’s because Beamer brought back a terrible offensive line coach. Truly he trashed the season with that one decision.

If Beamer wants to save his a$$, he will trash the emotional crap and make some business decisions.

NOW.

The season is lost. That’s a forgone conclusion at this point. Fire people now. Get a Headstart on looking for replacements. We’re not playing for anything at this point.

We could lose the next 4, and even throw in Clemson, and end up with 4 wins. He could offer up the OC or OC/OL and he gets a sort of "reset". Make that announcement the day after the Clemson game and there will be optimism going into next year.

For the season we have 55 penalties for 412 yards. Averaging 9 for 69 per game.

Mizzou and LSU, we combined for 27 penalties for 163 yards. That’s abysmal and undisciplined. Completely falls on the coaching. It’s our identity at this point.

"Beaver"? Beaver Cleaver.? You mean Beamer. One of my claims to fame was that one of the late actor Hugh Beaumont's (Ward Cleaver ) of "Leave It To Beaver" fame actual sons rode with me in my car.

The program should be further along in Year 5, like Ole Miss and Missouri. It's not.

I think you are right that Beamer's firing is inevitable,

This is year 5, IMO firing the staff is just buying him buying time for more bad seasons.i don’t think Beamer could possibly find a worse offensive staff, but if he might suprise us.

Not with his buyout. We cannot afford it. But he must make some changes on the offensive side this winter.

Yes, which is where I, and I THINK, you live. I went to school with the girl he married.. While living in Aiken, they attended the same church I did. I don't remember the reason but, sometime in the 1980s, we, along with my father-in-law drove somewhere on church business. He is a very nice guy. She is a pretty girl.

I don't think the buyout is any more than Muschamp's was when he was fired.. I don't think he will get fired this year. But if this season goes the way it is looking, next year will be "do or die" for him.

Yes, I do. Cool story. My aunt lives a few blocks from Hugh's old house.

Why SHOULD we keep Beamer?
I was skeptical of the hire to begin with. He is not producing a consistent winner like Kiffin and Drinkwitz have done at Ole Miss and Missouri. They were hired one year before Beamer. I am in favor of cutting the cord. But will Donato do it? My heart says he should. My head says he won't. I would love to be wrong.

I know the arguments for retaining him. He won nine games last year! Golly, he sure is a nice guy!

The product on the field this year has been downright inexcusable. It’s 100% his fault. He brought back Teasley with eyes wide open and it has destroyed this team.

The problem is, the way Beamer conducts his hirings, he could fire now, and still not have anyone in place before April…..
Which takes me back to my original point. Just fire Beamer and be done with it.

Last season, Sellers athleticism saved the season. Now, teams know how to defense him and, we have no answer. Beamer does a poor job of hiring staff. IF fans stay away from the games, starting this coming week, Donati might feel he needs to go ahead and pull the trigger, I hope fans will stay away. If any are reading this, PLEASE stay home. Thank you.

The better example is Heupel at TN. Hired the same year. People may not remember how bad TN was when he was brought in off the heels of Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, and Jeremy Pruitt. Don’t think Tanner even attempted to interview him. Smh

I watched the post game, and Shane is more worried about the "rotation" than giving the ball to the guy with the hot hand. Fuller is unequivocally our best running back, and for whatever reason they keep bringing out Faison and adaway. That was by far faison's best game, but he just isn't an SEC back.

Ranking SC football head coaches since 1966. This is not based on # of wins but the trajectory of the program and competence of the product.

1. Spurrier
2. Morrison
3. Carlen
4. Holtz
5. Beamer
6. Dietzel
7. Woods
8. Scott
9. Muschamp
10. Bell
Elliott (** not really fair since he was just interim)

Shane is moving down the list. After last year I would have put him at #2 or #3. If we finish with 3 or 4 wins this year he will be in the bottom 5.

Forget hiring TOP NOTCH assistants. The top assistants would feel more qualified to be the HC than Beamer. Nobody WORTH hiring would work for nepo child.
To get some top assistants, the NEW HC would have to bring them with him. Shane is barely a HC much less a businessman so making any changes is not his forte. Much less stellar changes.
Where is the fatherly coaching advice from Frank?
