Donati Should veto This Idea

It's hard to believe we are still advancing the idea of an internal candidate for OC. The following quote from the State newspaper caught my attention:
Beamer said. “We’re going to get the best guy in here, whether that’s within this staff, or whether that’s from the outside.”

Really ? - after all we have been through with Shula.
Now you can't blame it all on Shula - he was not in charge f the defense when Alabama just drove down the final for a winning touchdown, or when the defense gave up 30 (?) points in the second half against A&M.

But the fact remains Shula did not add value to the offense,
It was a lazy (and devastating) hire at the very time Beamer
had maximum leverage to hire a proven winner; that's on
Beamer, and it showed bad judgment.

So Beamer should not have the last word on hiring the new OC.
Donati should nix the idea of an internal candidate.

Is there any evidence we are advancing it? If it was internal, I think it would have happened by now.

Decker and Beck are the top names being mentioned. Internal hire-we've been down this road before and hopefully Shane isnt that clueless.

I think internal has proven to be a failure.
New blood/ideas are needed.
Talk to Drew Cronic, please! If someone has the ability to pass the name on, please do so.

When was that quote given? If the “best guy” is someone from within in the staff then he should already be named. If the quote is from within this last week that’s just absurd. How many more viable options can even exist on the staff? OL & OC gone weeks ago. RB coach out this week. I don’t know how many support staff they have but regarding on field guys, half the O is already gone.

Ahh yes. The classic conundrum of whether to turn your OC search over to the guy who hired Mike Shula or the guy who got a deal with Blanchard CAT and is renovating the stadium when it TOTALLY needs it...

I`m glad the recruits have more faith in Beamer and Donati than a lot of our fans posting do. If they didn`t we would not have a Top 15-20 class. Gotta give somebody credit for this right, especially after the season we had.

Beamer is a **** ing politician! JUST STOP! Speak the truth, “I’m slow playing this so LaNorris has a chance to review my top 3 choices, but no one from our current staff is even remotely qualified.”

I'm 100% sure the "best guy" is not on his current staff.
