We went full staff to visit one of those with rave character reviews.
The other one did not and I’ll just respectfully say there’s a difference in the two kids.
My point was that some kids let the name Kentucky speak for itself and doesn't have to see the campus (visit). Plus, it helps when you have a great coach and staff.
Agreed on those points. Each process and backstory of these recruitments will be different.
Like someone said Lamont Butler didn't visit.
We were also running short of official visits, if my memory serves, so the fact that we could get them to commit without having to spend a an official visit on them made them more valuable, if I remember correctly.
I don't see what relevance that has to Dent. Unless he immediately follows Pitino to Xavier, you would expect a kid like that to take at least a few visits if for no other reason that to drive up the price.
On dollar figures, some of these players may be worth more to an NCAA program than an NBA team. If college salaries compete with the NBA, I don't see how that is a bad thing for the college game.
Well, Dent himself said he was going to decide where he will be going April 1 or 2. Not much time for visits.
We remember how fast Fox was for us and this guy has similar speed like that. Makes a big difference having fast players on the floor, especially if they are good ball handlers, drivers and passers like this guy.

I am sure he will get it, but I don’t think we should spend quite that much on one guy. I mean he seems to be a stud but if you can get someone comparable like Thomas for half that you take him.

If he decides fast, I would assume that means he is almost certainly following Pitino and it was a formality any way.
What is Xavier's NIL situation like? I'm not familiar with the Cincy basketball scene.

If so, he needs a better agent. The smart thing is to play the bidders against each other, not auction yourself.

His no contact meant his decision was made when he entered. The $3 Million number was thrown out to keep people away. He will not get anywhere close to that number. He MIGHT ge $1 Million at most. He will follow his coach and that is the only reason he could possibly get $1 Million. These kids are not getting the huge dollars that are thrown around. There would be very few SEC players getting $1 Million per year. Does anyone know for a fact that we have a million dollar a year player?
Like everyone else of course it will but I hope he priotizes a place like ours where he will shine offensively and have a chance to win huge. He had glowing things to say about us.

The ONLY reason he hasn’t said that is to see how much MONEY he can get elsewhere. If the money is good enough, he will leave little Ricky high and dry.
This is actually great news. You don't want him going to Duke and being the final piece to their title run next year.
Good question about the Xavier NIL budget. But maybe not having to share with football may allow them to be competitive.

I would too, even if we don't get him specifically, there are some other combinations that could work out. So I'm just trusting Coach Pope has all this dialed in and is ready to sift and sort. He's swamped. It's gonna be a stampede of interest. Already is.
