Hud is all over him, and TS is calling Hud on a regular basis...."MSU will definitely be in my top 2"......."I will narrow down my top 3 by midseason"

now, call this just a gut feeling by me......I think Col. Reb, Jr (coach hall) is noticing this and this is why they will line him up in the wildcat formation a ton this year.....why? cause Nutt loves it, and gives Mississippi a better recruiting angle.....

thats a gut feeling my me.....

I also think we have 50% chance at PJ Johnson, 25% Mississippi, 25% Alabama......

the kid who committed to Duke basketball from brandon, says "msu is still an option"

BDJ has some damn good info....you guys do great!

to MSU but the pressure on him to go the other way is immense. Madison Central does not have the offense they usually have this yearso Singleton will be put in a position to get as many touches as he can possibly get. He truly is a great player and whoever ends up with him will be getting a great one.

concerning the whole "got lost going to BigDawg" or "left late going to BigDawg" scenario, but if I were a recruit and that happened with me, I'd have my eyebrows raised. And we need to push the whole "qb killer" and the "rebels won't have a qb" angles we can when recruiting wrs.

So are the rest of the coaches in the state utilizing the wildcat to recruit for OM. I have no doubt that Hall paints OM in a positive light, but its stupid to say he will utilize the wilcat to help OM. He'll utilize the wildcat because it is a simple way to get the ball in the hands of your best playmaker.

And if MSU is in Singleton's top 2 in the end, I'll feel much batter about our chances.

Croom/McCorvey/West Coast Offense -no chance of getting Tobias

Mullen/Hudspeth/Koenning/Spread Offense - realistic chance of getting Tobias

I would be shocked if we got him... excited, but shocked.

Any recruiting benefit to UM would be a bonus for him. And it's not like doing that would automatically mean a recruit would sign with UM anyway. Didn't Tupelo do pretty much the same thing with Chad Bumphis?

how some people act like there is some NCAA rule that says that Ole Miss is the only school that can run the Wildcat or something.

Just about everyone runs it- including MSU.

That said, I'm pretty sure that Hall is doing this in part because Ole Miss does it. The man is like having a deranged message board poster actually coaching a team. The guy had MC uniforms a couple of years ago that were carbon copies of Ole Miss's. Except they were blue and orange.

I like the advances that we've made with both of them, and I think the fact that they are planning on waiting it out may increase our chances.

According to Rosebowl the "mystery recruit" who is a silent commit and is not announcing until late or after the season, or he's not sure yet, is HIGH in profile. That definitely fits Singleton. Who here believes it's him or Brassell? Or who is your guess? I wouldn't put Aaron Morris as "high profile" just yet. I have been saying Brassell, but I dunno. The more I read the more I think it's possibly Singleton.

There is no mystery recruit. I believe that to be absolute, 100% ********.

The good thing about this is that if we get any late commitment from any halfway decent player, Steve can claim he was right and knew all along.

I'm not totally sold either but I'm not saying it's 100% BS...he's more informative and correct about his judgements of players and their abilities than he incorrect.

Well, Rosebowl swung and missed a lot last year: Thompson, Humphrey, Brunetti and Newton...

I may be blind, but i have never seen a WR running the wildcat, or maybe i just dont remember......isnt it normally a RB?

i understand you want a playmaker back there.....so I can see it.....like i said, Peyton Johnson and a few other players are members at our duck camp in isola, and many of MC football players have come up there to hunt, and they all say the same thing.....Bobby Hall is bat **** crazy ole miss fan....strongly emphasizing bat ****....

I saw the 6A North Title game last year. Brassell played man on Singleton. It was a great matchup. Singleton caught a jump ball and took it for 70+ yards or so. But Brassell kept him in check otherwise.

was when we actually ran it 2001 with Ray Ray Bivines. He was a WR.

It just has to be a good athlete that can make something happen with the ball in his hands. Like Chad Bumphis, who is also a WR. Obviously, it could be a RB, or even a back-up QB that can run. Or it could have been Derek Pegues- thanks Croom! Not!

but like you, the first time I noticed it was Ray Ray taking a snap from shotgun, making the corner, and scoring. He did it a couple of times that game. SC 2001 maybe?

The Wayne County War Eagles do the same thing with Auburn. At least MC mimics an in-state school. There's no telling how many schools use maroon and white as their colors.

Actually yes they both did come to an MSU camp this summer.

Under the lights camp? No, but neither did Dee Arrington. How did that turn out?

that it is a "sneaky recruiting trick". I think Hall just wants to get the ball into the hands of his best playmaker. Plain and simple.

I think Beretta is on to something. I will say this. Melvin Smith is a friend of the family. I've been lucky enough to have a couple of conversations with him about recruiting. He's told me how dirty Nutt and some of the Ole Miss boosters can be. There's a reason Tobias didn't make it to our camp and it has dirty recruiting written all over it. In the end, Mullen and Melvin's integrity will be more attractive to Tobias. That is unless Masoli doesn't steal him.
