At Ole Miss as Tee Shepard looks to join the Rebels this fall…

"We've been working with the folks at Ole Miss on what he needs," Koonz said. "Secondly, our school is pretty liberal with online courses. If Tee gets his 15 hours this spring, it's doable. We have two sessions in the summer. He gets his four classes in and he's there. The only problem, there isn't much wiggle room."

They left out the part ‘bout committing to State and then ‘flipping’ without even calling. Now, at least, after 18 years, I will never, ever let a rebel utter the name of Dontae’ again without shoving back.

Then again, they also left out Freezus’ tweet …

Commitment is staying loyal to what you said you were going to do, long after the mood you said it in, has left you #WinTheDay

I know it is picky and my comment could easily be misunderstood, but after working in the disability field for about 20 years, I can't help but point out there is no such thing as "legally" deaf......

Come on man. Dontae Jones passed THIRTY-SIX hours ALL in the summer. From what you posted and unless I'm reading it wrong, Sheppard is taking 15 hours this spring. That is barely a full-time student (it's been a few years, but isn't a full-time student 12 hours??). Sounds like he is taking 12 hours in the summer (2 courses in the June session and 2 courses in the July session).

12 summer hours is much more realistic than 36 hours.

Maybe Dontae was smart enough to take 36 hours*******

Rules were changed after Dontae to limit how many hours you can acquire in a college semester (or summer). Not sure what the cap ended up at but its WAY less than 36 hours.

You're right, guess it depends 'how' one reads it ...

I was under the impression that Sheppard was a 'full-time' student at Holmes which, like you said would be "at least 12 hours" + 15 hours of on-line courses = at least 27 hours in one semester which most folks would agree is close to Dontae'sque.

I took 26 and 24 in back to back semesters. Still had plenty of time to get hammered and do most everything I wanted. It should almost be a job requirement that you took 20+ hours in two semesters because it helps you learn a little about prioritization and organization.

Undergrad really isn't that hard.

That being said, 27 hours in one semester would make my head explode. Hell, the TWO semesters I actually took 21 hours sucked bad enough...

I think there were courses where I could have taken 36 to 39 hours. Just show up for basically a 40 hour work week, maybe occasionally study at night before a test. It's hard to remember how much time I wasted, but I think 24 hours of engineering (especially if there were some of the ******** '1' hour labs lasting three hours thrown in) would be a full work week.

I think college students would enjoy it so much more if they had to work just one year between high school and college, so they'd realize what a joke a 15 or 18 hour semester is. I know I would have.

I believe it was 32 hours Dante Passed ..and there were all kinds of options in those days you could use the distance learning option from Jackson State or Ole Miss...most frats had test files for "vector borne diseases" and "consumer math" they were great options if you were in a pinch.. you filled out the questions per the test file and then you just had to squeeze through the exam....a total time commitment of a few hours.....
