Highly doubt it's Gruden, I look for him to be in Philly or San Diego next season.

Slive hasn't allowed coaches to be poached by other SEC schools on his watch, so I doubt it's Mullen also.

I'm thinking Charlie Strong for some reason but if AU doesn't fire Chiz, don't be surprised to see Jimbo Fisher there. If they were smart, they'd get Cutcliffe, but they're not.

all of those are dumb choices. strong hasn't proven enough, and jimbo is not leaving fsu. ludicrous.

spike dykes and gus malzahn are the guys people should be talking to, and are available. tennessee should actually talk with fulmer.

I think they should go for Malzahn. He will bring a big change up there and the fans will go for it.

only thing is about that, tennessee can typically bring in big name qbs, and not the running ones that utilize the spread. but malzahn has shown he can use both and in the present day, tennessee needs to neutralize the talent gap due to lack of nearby fertile recruiting grounds.

I don't think they need a 74 year old personally but to each his own.

Lot of good up-and-coming coaches in the MAC as well. Of course, UT fancies themselves above such coaches...

I look for Gruden to get the first run, then they go after Petersen. This new playoff format didn't make Boise State's life any easier. Jumping to the Big East was a huge tactical mistake for them.

Wondering if the *** from Tennersee made another YouTube video, like he did during our game. Bet he really lost it, after Vandy spanked em.

Even if Mullen wanted to leave, I don't think he'd step into the mess that's at Tennessee at the moment. The fanbase their won't be nearly as supportive as ours when he loses a game.

If they somehow could get Gruden, can you imagine the Alabama/Tennessee rivalry then? Saban vs Gruden ....

Cutcliffe actually has the dream job at Duke ... he's making a fortune at the private school and expectations in FB are very low.

Slive hasn't stopped any either. But I agree. I doubt it's Mullen.

Slive has stepped in a couple of times- including Tennessee wanting to talk to Mullen before they hired Dooley...word is Slive has put the word out on no Petrino anywhere either

Tennessee has already tried the LaTech pipeline. They won't go after Dykes because of it.

I don't think there's going to be much sentiment in Tennessee for hiring another coach off of Alabama's defensive staff so soon after Sunseri.

I'm hearing...

Gruden has told the Vols his demands are 5-6mill a year for him another 5 for his assistants and a 10 year contact. He will also bring Raheem Morris. It's a 100 million dollar investment and UT is pissing their pants at that large of money. If UT agrees Gruden will be the next Vol coach. They just had to pay 9+ mill to Dooley and the assistants today.

I think a lot of you guys are going to be very surprised at the lack of interest in Bobby Petrino. Not just in the SEC, but in all of the major conferences.

Big difference. Dykes was a successful LA Tech coach. But I agree. Just like they're not likely to go after Smart right after Sunseri, they're not likely to go after Dykes right after Dooley.

I don't understand the love affair with Gruden?? He doesn't seem like he's the least bit interested in the college game. He's a big city guy and probably not someone who would want to live in a smaller town. I wouldn't trust him to run a college program, he would probably leave you high and dry, if something else caught his interest. But if that's the case then I support Tennessee in offering Gruden.

He might have a shot at a school like Memphis.

BTW, did his wife leave him?

I'm with you. I just don't understand why Gruden is on every college's message board coaching short list. It doesn't make sense that a coach who's never really had any college coaching experience (outside a few graduate assistant gigs and a quarterbacks coach stint on the west coast in the 80s) being incredibly interested in coming to coach a college team especially when he's almost assuredly getting NFL offers every year.

He's from Sandusky, Ohio ... Knoxville is much larger, plus he's lived there before when he was an assistant. He went to college, mostly, in Dayton, also smaller than Knoxville.

It's not really that bad a deal (if true), except for the longevity. It's comparable to Saban. Whether he's comparable to Saban in ability, I don't know ... but I think he may be. Plus, he's younger and has more years to coach left in him.

I hope that's true about raiding head coaches. It wasn't pretty when Tuberville went to Auburn from OM. Even an MSU fan can see that he did them dirty.

Tennessee is definitely not gonna settle for another go-between coach, so this would be an expensive gamble.

Knoxville might be bigger than Sandusky, Ohio, but it doesn't have Callahan Auto, so I'm not sure it's quite as attractive.

The UT goons at work say Gruden's wife was actually a cheerleader

at UT. And he was a GA, right?

According to an article I read, Sandusky is a tourist destination. Not sure why ... maybe it's Callahan Auto. Or maybe it's Lake Erie. I've never been there ... just through Toledo to the west. It's a small town ... maybe Starkville or Columbus-size.

I'd hire his *** in a minute (at a school like MSU, UK, UM, Vandy, etc.). But I'm not an AD either.

Cedar Point is the roller coaster capitol of the world. They have several coasters including what was and may still be the tallest and fastest in the world. I've been and outside of two coasters it sucked. And I didn't see a decent looking woman for the whole three days I was in ohio.

The climate there is too cold so the women have to have extra fat to stay warm. That's not a good thing.
