Hearing rumors of him getting a medical redshirt and might be back next year any truth to this?

Just based solely on how the medical hardship rule is written, I'm not sure how this could be possible. 2015 season would be the only qualifying year, and he played in 5 games, which is more than 30% of the season, and played in the second half of the season; both things would disqualify him. Now there may be something more to it, if it's true, but at least on the surface, I'm not sure how it would work.
