I came across a Bleacher Report article that said Ladarius Perkins was somewhere around the Top 15 fastest players in NCAA (4.42 avg/40).

Then I did some research at CBS Draft Central

LDP is ranked 8th RB Rd 3-4 EDP. His ranking is 50 spots ahead of Jeff Scott.**

TR has moved from QB position 15 to 11. Late Round EDP.

GJ is now the no. 2 OG. 15th overall player. 1st Round.

Whitley is FS no. 11 and Late Round EDP

Autrey is DE no. 42. Skinner is OLB no. 48. Siddoway is OT no. 48; Swedenburg is P no. 11. All UDFA.

Day is C no. 12; Cox is CB no. 15; Eulls DT no. 27; Jones DT no. 48; Smith DE no. 41; Hughes SS no. 32; Clausell OT no. 29 for 2015.

OG rarely go in the first round. Gabe is a very good prospect, but unless he projects as the #1 OG to go in the draft by draft time I highly doubt he will be drafted before the 2nd rd.

Also, I love how you can't even make a single thread without trying to take a stab towards ole miss. Just in case you were wondering, no one expects Jeff Scott to even get drafted without a monster year.

Only thing I'd say about this is that 3 guards were drafted in the top 20 picks of this year's draft (Jonathan Cooper, Chance Warmack, and Kyle Long). However, I'd generally agree with you that guards aren't usually drafted very high. But if they are good enough, they will definitely be selected high.

Totally agree. This year was a bit of an anomaly, but as I said Gabe is a great prospect. Another good year and its possible.

Just like anything else, NFL goes in cycles. You couldn't give QB's and RB's away in the first round anymore, but Brees, P. Manning, Brady, Palmer, Vick, and all of your backups like Wallace, Carr, and countless other former starters will all be out of the league in the next 5 years and I bet you in the next 3 drafts all of those teams will be eyeing every QB in the draft.

Offensive lines are as solid as ever. You can never have too many tackles, and now most of them can play OG too... It's just a 2nd tier position. They stick their necks out for the "elite" few and let the others fall where they may. Gabe could really tickle a certain GM but I don't expect him to be a 1st round guy. First year starter? I could see it though. In the end that's more important, especially with the new CBA.

Ole Miss has recruiting to look forward to, MSU has the draft to look forward to. You can all ***** about recruiting as much as you want, but I can't remember the last time the NFL pilfered MSU's roster as much as they do now. Seems like almost every senior now makes at least a practice squad. For those that don't (Broomfield, C. Smith, etc.) at least they had fantastic college careers, got degrees, and have plans outside of football moving forward.

Croom was turrible at developing talent but preached about how he molded people outside of football... but every single year seniors were leaving without degrees (namely Fitzpatrick). Seems like we're finally getting the best of both worlds.
