Where are Banks & Slay being projected to go now?

I don't have ESPN Insider anymore, so I don't read Kiper & McShay.

I'm still holding out hope Banks could go in the first. Would really be great to sell to recruits that we've had a first rounder in three straight drafts.

Neither are physically going to the draft in NYC per SECsports.com. Not sure that means anything. I guess they could still be bottom half 1st rounders, just not lottery picks.

More importantly is where Renfroe goes in the MLB draft coming up. That coupled with actually winning big and being nationally relevant in baseball could make us lights out in recruiting.....we basically already are.

Pretty much no chance on Banks going in the 1st. Teams do reach, but I just don't see it. I think we're looking at a 2nd rounder and a 3rd.

Three teams love Banks (seen him in person a handful of times each now, Packers, Giants, Patriots) and all of them have late first round picks. It's a perfect storm for him to go late in the 1st.

According to Bob he was invited to NYC but declined because he wanted to watch it at home with his wife and son, which I would usually write off as "yeah me too" but if you know anything about Banks it's probably entirely true.

No chance in hell he makes it to the 3rd round. You serious, Clark?

All indications point to Slay in the 4th.

I hope the Packers take Banks, but I have a feeling they're gonna reach and get Lacy. I think I'd rather him fall out of the first round than go to NE... I'm a hater.

Don't worry, 57stratdawg is pretty much the most negative poster here. And for no apparent reason at all.

Although I will say, I never really saw why people labeled Banks a superstar. Good player, sure. NFL talent, definitely. But tops in the land? Eh, I never thought so. I hope the best for him though, so I hope he is a 1st rounder.

Kiper has Banks at #53 to Cincy.. Slay not in Top 2 rounds.

McShay and Kiper are always farther down on MSU players than NFL scouts. They had Cox going middle 2nd to start their mock drafts last year and slowly moved him up and up the more that NFL scouts flocked to his workouts. They moved up to "top 15" a week or two before the draft. A middle schooler with a computer and great people skills could do their jobs.

The year before they had a couple tackles ahead of Sherrod on the "best available" when he was taken.

Most of the time GM's take the best available, but a lot of times depending on the player they will reach. Belichick is known for doing both. Banks is lucky because he plays a popular position in the draft and he can be moved all over the secondary if they need to. MOST of the 20-32 range teams have old, veteran secondaries that need both safeties and corners in the next few years. He's a safe pick.

I'm not being negative. Banks was told last year his 40 time would kill him. If he could have ran a 4.45, he would have left then. I posted that all last year his 40 time would be what prevented him from being a 1st round pick, how is that me being negative? I was dead fvcking on.

You really should read more and post less.

I also posted ALL LAST YEAR that there was more value in Slay than in Banks. Nailed that one too, FYI.

What are you even talking about? I said in my post I didn't think Banks was all that. Not sure what a baby crying has to do with me calling you negative. You're a pretty miserable poster even to me, and I often err on the negative side.

I don't give two ***** what or who you nailed. "Read more, post less"? Ha, save that ****, pal. You aren't qualified.

You hedged backwards now that it's pretty obvious Banks wouldn't be a 1st round pick. We all know. No reason to back down from it.

Again, I'm not being negative IF I WAS RIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME. If Banks would have gotten a high draft grade, he never would have returned to school last year. Doesn't make him any less of a great college player, but not a great pro prospect.

Slay was on my flight out of GTR Sunday afternoon headed to Newark. Most likely to visit with Giants or Jets
