1. The "Scott Field Tradition" (ahem) of the band playing the Alma Mater lasted about 15 seconds. Perhaps that explains why the jets were about a minute or two late flying over the stadium.

2. After the rain, the freshly painted steps leading from the JSU locker room were slick, resulting in at least 3 players falling to the ground and others taking extra time to get on the field.

3. Our PA system was rumored to "go to 11." It sounded like it was a notch lower than 3 on the dial.

4. For much of the first quarter, the scoreboard display showed that it was the 2nd quarter.

5. Traffic control was ineffective and/or non-existent. Thanks SPD / MHP for all your fine work.

Someone mentioned it in another thread, but the lettering for the names on the jerseys is way too small. They should go up a couple font sizes and switch to a font with thicker and wider letters.

Only after the game while the team sings (per Mullen's request)

The band now plays God Bless the USA as an intro to the national anthem.

Everything is planned down to the second well in advance, it just didn't work out exactly yesterday (presumably the rain had something to do with it...)

At least we could hear the nasal voiced bastard. John Holmes sounds like he's doing play by play for an autopsy up there.

It is not Hail State, it's extremely slow and boring. At the end of the game is a good time for it. I played it for 5 years.
It's called "Maroon and White" by the way.</p>

Nobody knew or cared about the alma mater. It was a forced tradition and doomed to die as such. Some schools like Texas really have it as a tradition. Others think they should and find they can't force tradition.

Its like.....alma mater? What's that? Oh we should have one...what is it...oh, we already have one...let's make it tradition. That crap don't work. We already have our traditions. No need to invent one just because some other schools think the alma mater should be a tradition.
