It could be thank you for the memories/what you have done in a nice way but with so many being sick of him, and especially Meo, on here I suppose it could also be a thank you for finally quitting as well.
I view it in a positive way but I imagine C34 and some others take the alternate point of view.

The press conference reminded me that being a dad and husband trumps everything else on this planet.

I watched the 2001 egg bowl replay one night. My wife was 2 months from having our 2nd child. (she went and rang a cowbell at that game). Mario Haggan PLANTED Eli in the ground, after he let go of a pass. Legit hit, but barely. Camera goes to Archie's face and you know what those lips said...."that son-of-a-*****". It was then I remembered that Archie wasnt saying that as a fan, but a dad. And the emotion I felt when I watched the play changed.

Just like today. Rick Stansbury was talking to us about MSU sports for the first time as a dad and not a coach.

I dont give a **** anymore what he didnt accomplish or what our teams did or didnt do to win. We, as a school, have a higher expectation of basketball success because of him in every single way.

Same as Ron Polk......same as Jackie Sherrill.

Might have hated the way it ended. But if they hadnt come, we'd still be stuck in 1975. ****** everything.

I agree with your sentiment........I don't want to hijack the thread.......but Rick stepping down to spend more time with his kids and Archie getting pissed because he feels his son should not be hit hard playing the game of football are apples and oranges......17n Archie and hissense of entitlement.

and not a fan. Same way I believe that Rick, despite his pasion for coaching, made his decision today.

They are dads.

In spite of our deep seeded feelings for why we dissagree with their methods. THey are dads.

I could not be more opposed to Ricks coaching or Archies words, and yet, I dont live their life with a camera in my face.

I think that sums it up perfectly. The Stansbury's have devoted the last 14 years of their lives to MSU and our basketball program is better for it.

instead of "Sixpackspeak would like to say" it should read "Sixpackspeak say"

Gotta personalize it BMT!
