He sounds like a good prospect, but I would also like to see an immediate impact guy at NT.

Honestly, it's hard for me to get excited about this one. That said, I trust our staff and their judgement so GBR !

I laugh at "Seasons of eligibility." As if these guys are actually going to stay here for 4 years. Right now you can probably hope for 2 at best. A 4 year player will probably be an anomaly.

So….has he played at all the last 3 years? Did he change his name? Not finding any recorded tackles for him during this time, heck a couple OL’s have been credited with a tackle or two.

He red shirted his first year. He was supposedly going to play, maybe even start this year and then had some health issue and didn’t play. So it seems like he has some talent. But this health issue is obviously a red flag too.

More mature than most guys with four years of eligibility: 2023 redshirt and 2024 health issues all year. Hopefully that means he may be ready to play immediately, if healthy.

How can he have 4 years to play when he has been out of hs for 2 years? I thought you had to wait until you were a senior to find out if you that injury year back? Did they change that process?

Traditional redshirt and medical redshirt. I think the fact that he didn't play, iirc, makes medical redshirt easier. Now if he would have played then would be tougher

This guy is on the wrong side of production vs potential. Hope they did their homework on his medical situation.

Was listed as a weak side DE out of HS, but now has DT size. I’m assuming the NU staff has relevant data points on these kids in terms of 40 times, agility tests, etc. They must have liked his profile and since he’s got four years left, this guy is just an athletic big man who will compete for the rotation on the defensive line next year.

There's some intrigue about this guy. First off, he was highly regarded because he was a candidate to start this season. On the other hand, he apparently pulled himself out of football this year. Why? Legit injury issue or did he just quit the team for "personal reasons". Then there's the question of eligibility. This guy is in his third year of football and he still has four years to play? It's still five years to play four right? Whatever happened to the eligibility "clock"?

It will be interesting to see if he's a full participant in winter conditioning and spring football. If so, then he's worth taking a shot on. But I've had enough of bringing in transfers who have more surgeries at NU than games started.
