Guthrie is a scholarship kid out of Colorado and a great athlete to boot.

Okay, so I didn't waste my time researching Guthrie's scholarship status. My point was that Rhule will play that guy with a "story" even if someone else in the position is better. He is way too slow to replace a regular who keeps failing to get the job done.
Case in point Teddy. The kid is now heading off the field in street clothes and hopefully does the right thing and retires from the sport. He gave what he had, so he should be able to walk away with his head held high. Same thing with Corcoran, his reaction time could be timed with a sun dial.
At the end of the day, Rhule and Raiola took up valuable, valuable snaps with 2 frequently injured players who could just have well given younger, healthier kids those snaps in hopes they would continue to improve.
When we constantly have those often injured players and try to make a cohesive unit of the OLine, it is constantly in flux. If a kid isn't durable for the first couple years, they probably never will be. A team of 6'3" or 6'4" kids have a lot better chance of avoiding injury than those that are 6'6" and 6'10".
The highly successful coaches say, screw that good story kid, put the best kid out there. And it all translates into W's and L's.
