The best thing he has going for him is that he understands he's no longer going to be a feature back, and he's looking for a job as a back up. I would guess some team will take a chance on him as a back up, but with RBs, you never know.

RBs really get chewed up and spit out by the NFL. They take a serious pounding, and then when they lose a step due to all the pounding they take, they get shuffled aside to be replaced by players with younger, healthier legs and bodies.

You would figure that someone would pick him up for team leadership and those short distant plays.

That's what I'm thinking. If I'm a team whose feature back is more of a speed guy, I'd definitely consider picking him up as a back up, because 1, he can fill in and give you snaps if your starter goes down, and 2, he's a good short yardage option.

As I said, the key for him is that he's not being realistic. He knows his role at this point in his career, which can sometimes be a problem. A lot of times, a guy will want to still be the feature back or receiver after they've lost a step, and they effectively take themselves out of the market. He's not doing that.

Duce is a good guy who has not forgotten his roots and Mississippi and has done a lot of good stuff. I hope that old saying what goes around comes around works out for him. I hope to see him playing some where, at lest for one more season.

I hope its on a team that uses him correctly, as the saints did not. (4th and 2, lets run Reggie up the middle WT17) I hope he gets his shot and he deserves it. And when he gets it, I hope he doesnt become the next Shaun Alexander
