Do y’all think West Henderson could give them a good game in the 4th round if West Henderson gets by West Rowan

If the Falcons offense plays like it did on Friday, it might be tough for anyone. They have a couple division 1 caliber kids on offense. Truitt Manuel might be the best athlete on the field any given night, no matter who they play. It’ll be interesting to see how they play out.

I heard that some of Hendersonville talent transferred to West Henderson is that true. Also when did West Henderson turn into a big passing team

While Dudley is definitely a talented team, this Dudley team is nothing like the team it had last year. Last year’s group was a veteran experienced group. I’ve watched Dudley multiple times this year and their quarterback and offensive/ defensive lines are not where it was last year. The d-line has an absolute stud at DT which mask some of their vulnerability. Also playing in a weak conference hides flaws. The Dudley offense is nothing to brag about. Teams in their conference give them a lot of cheap touchdowns. I am hoping to see Dudley and KM in the 4th round. Dudley better not underestimate SP. SP is a difficult team to prepare for and Dudley will not be able to just run through them in a 3rd round game this year. I definitely want to see Dudley in KM in John Gamble but first each team must take care of business in the first 3 rounds.

I don’t know of any transfers from Hendersonville, they’ve just got a great coaching staff and kids who have bought in. They switched about 3yrs ago when former Tennessee Vol and Redskin QB Jonathan Crompton began coaching the offense. That’s why the QB is headed to play D1 and is well polished. The main receiver is Truitt Manuel who is one of best baseball prospects in the entire country and committed to NC State as a freshman but rumors are he has a chance to go pro out of HS. He could play big time D1 as a wide receiver if he was committed to football and is all conference in basketball as well, just an overall generational athlete. They’ve got some college talent all over the field though, some big DEs, really good linebackers and 2 really good tight ends. They’re a solid team.

I judged them based off of seeing them line up against chambers in person here in Charlotte and then when they played a senior heavy 1 seed in the 4A East Hillside team. Hillside improved from a year ago and the game was closer this year. I also looked at last years team and position by position they are basically the same. They have improved at a few position groups and took a slight step back at a few but it balances itself out. It’s hard to judge sometimes if a team has improved overall based off prior years because opponents change. Kings Mountain for example is hard to judge. I can tell they are legit but Shelby took a major step back from last year and still could’ve won. Crest is super young and small upfront this year so it had me thinking are they that much better or are the teams that beat them just not as good. I also wonder how they will do against a balanced team because they have yet to play a team that has size upfront, can pass, run and play defense. Every match up has played in their favor.
I forgot to add, the same thing applies to East Lincoln as well. They brought back the same team that got destroyed by Statesville and struggled playing against the speed Statesville had. They haven’t played a good team yet because statesville is a shell of itself this year. It will be interesting to see how they play and matchup with KM if both meet in the 4th round.

I agree. Shelby took a step back because not only did it lose two D1 prospects in their front seven, those two guys were the leaders of the team. Crest defense improved with the transfers from Gaffney. It made them bigger than earlier in year. The Chargers aren’t the same defense as earlier in the year. I think they beat Statesville easily. What makes EL dangerous to KM in my opinion is coach Matt Beam. He knows KM well, inside and out. His sons played youth ball in KM and he is friends with a lot of KM coaches/guys. He knows this particular group of KM kids well and he has coached against Lloyd prior. Other than that the KM kids have been kicking the EL kids butt since little league lol.
Coach Lloyd is a very hard offensive coach to prepare for. I think offensively the last two years he is coaching on another level. Very few tactical mistakes. I think the experience of playing Dudley last year will definitely help KM. Dudley o-line struggled with our d-line tremendously last year and to their credit they made a great adjustment at half to go to the no huddle in the 2nd half. Our young defense wasn’t prepared for that especially with our defensive leaders out to injury. The team that would scare the bejesus out of me would be a true power running team with a big o-line and a big tough running back. Add a coach who is content to run it 40 times a game and milk the clock. That is the nightmare scenario in my mind for our defense. Oh yeah that Dudley DT is problematic. He is a grown man in the middle of their defense. I was hoping he had graduated lol.

Truitt Manuel transferred from Hendersonville to West Henderson as a 9th grader. Started as a varsity player that fall. He is a junior now.
Im not aware of any other transfers to WH from HHS since then.

He just came to West from Hendersonville Middle after his dad got the principal job, correct? He didn’t technically transfer from another high school?

Trust me, Dudley Team, Coaches and Fanbase don't talk anybody for granted. Matter of fact they read the comments about their Conference being weak {Which they have no control over} from this site and the comments locally on Greensboro Sports Page, mostly from Southeast Guilford, Page and some Grimsley Fans that wish ill of them, lol! If I had a dollar for the people and media that bought up Dudley playing weak teams from *2007, *2008, 2009 *2013, 2015, *2016, 2020 *2021 { The teams that either got to the Western Conference Finals Games or State Championships & (*) and NOW! I would be rich. However, I will the QB this year {A transfer Jr. from Grimsley} has better Stats vs last year QB Jamar Slade {WSSU St}. A. Attmore is 123-174 for 2,043 yards; 27tds/2ints averaging 203.4 yards and a rating of 144.5 vs J. Slade was 111-180 for 2203; 30 tds/5ints averaging 153.5 yards and a rating of 133.6. Dudley in the first half of the season had issues with the O-Line, especially the Centers hiking the balls over the QBs head causing many Red Zone drives to be ruined. They switched out 3 people to play center, finally the 2nd half of the season it hasn't been a issue since. Yes last year team put up some crazy video game stats with 2,899 Passing- 5,370 rushing vs. this year with 2,086 passing- 2,373 rushing. But Coach Davis many times played his 2nd and his 3rd String in the late 3rd and 4th quarters. But with that said, Dudley isn't Cocky or feeling themselves {My words, not yours} and we were already talking about Kings Mountain and if Dudley loss a game or two, we would be heading down there. But South Point, Shelby Crest, Oak Grove, E. Lincoln {We was thing Statesville at first} were on Dudley radar for tough matches.

I would say it would be close, but my heart would give the edge to last year team by a edge, meaning 3-7pts. This year QB is a more deep ball/big play accurate passer than the QB we had last year. However, this years O-LINE isn't as skilled and strong as last year team. We are a decent rushing team this year vs last year being a power running team. The Defensive front 4 are both the same in stopping the rush from 2021 vs 2022. However, if you have a Passing QB that can scramble and WRs that can fly down the field, I feel last year team was better in adjusting with personnel than this year team.

That Dudley team sure was special last year. If they are close to as good as they were last year that will be a tough game for KM if they both make it there to play one another

From what I’ve seen I think they have more weapons/options at the skill position. Last year they leaned heavily on a few play makers for everything.

They are close! I think the secondary is better and I think the linebackers are more agile as in athletic enough to play the pass and run game.

Yes the WRs this year, especially Nasir Newkirk have made some wild catches deep down the field. Other than that O-Line, the WRs and RBs are deep and talented. They better in spreading the ball around to multiple players this year.

No. Maybe in the first quarter but once they settle in it will start to get bad as the game goes on. I’ve seen them over the years and that staff is used to stopping that style of play, really any style of play. You gotta remember before Catholic went on that run in 3A, Dudley was the team to come to Charlotte and send them home the year before in the 4A west finals and did 2-3 years before that when they had hood at Rb.

We know Dudley brings winning tradition and defensive toughness every year. I remember watching Dudley battle Charlotte Catholic at Catholic at one of the coldest football games I’ve attended. You guys had a safety who I believe ended up going to NC State who was lights out. I believe Catholic had Elijah Hood then or that game was very close to his era. I sat on the Dudley side and met some of the coolest football fans ever. I’ve followed Dudley ever since.
We know Dudley brings a lot and in my opinion would have contended for a 4A title last year. I think last years qb was a great dual threat guy which made them offensively more dangerous. I know Coach Davis gets his guys prepared well. From my standpoint I just love to see the best teams matchup head to head. To be the man you have to beat the man. Right now Dudley is defending champs until someone knocks them off. Trust me the Panthers are respected state wide. I think KM and Dudley will battle this year and next year also to represent the West.

This year team is more deeper at WRs & RBs and spreading the ball around. In my opinion though last years team O-Line protected better and open up bigger gaps to run. Last year QB ran better out the pocket to avoid a sack. This year QB isn't a runner at all, but when he has time, he will pluck you apart with short, medium and deep balls to his playmakers.

When they beat Catholic in Charlotte Hendon Hooker was the quarterback. Elijah Hood was on the 2013-14 team that got beat by them a few years before. I’m more of a 4A guy so I got to see the first match up. I wish I got to see the one at Catholic because that atmosphere is just different with their fans.

Time is flying by lol. You are right because at that time I moved to Raleigh from Charlotte in January 2014. It was prior to my move there. It was so cold that night in them aluminum bleachers lol. The Dudley fans were great. You could hear the hits in that game all around the stadium that night. Catholic has a great atmosphere for big games.

I thought that Dudley’s line play on both sides of the ball is what made them a great team. Also your defensive tackle is an absolute monster on the field. I felt bad for those South Point running backs last year when he got his hands on them.

Kings Mountain weakest position group is probably the DB’s I am not saying there bad because they are not bad but the Kings Mountain Defense Line is really good which makes the DB’s look better. Also they can rotate players out to keep the d-line and linebackers fresh.

On the offensive side of the ball they are pretty balanced the passing game has got a lot better over the last couple of weeks. They also have like 3 to 4 running backs they can rotate in to keep fresh.

This team is just so close they don’t have a Kobe Paysour or DayDay Wilson but they are great team and play well together you can see it on the field

The biggest factor for every team in the playoffs is staying healthy.

Ive watched a bunch of KM games this year and here is the difference between this years team and the one from last year...(2 things) HEALTHY (especially compared to the end of last year) and Richardson and Simpson coming off the edges...two explosive players with high and I mean high motors that get to the quarterback in an extreme hurry.... These two especially create havoc every single friday.... If you have the smallest of issues blocking the edges, the game is over, bottom line... thats how good these two are coming off the edge....

the line play is just physical, both sides of the ball... and Coach Lloyds play calling has been absolutely masterful at times this year.... Its obvious he studies his opponents and attacks them in so many ways ...It has been fun to watch when I have seen them.... I aint too sure about the special team coach, hes a little off kilter occasionally... LOL....

not saying they will win it all, but they have a great shot this year...

Dudley/KM will be a great game. Would give edge to Dudley, but KM is a different team this year. Dudley while not as explosive as last years is a better team on the field. They spread ball around more and are more balanced. Dudley absolutely dominated KM last year, and not just KM but the entire playoffs. Hell they had 69 points vs. Rose, w/o scoring in the 4th quarter. Dudley is always the favorite in 3A.

I aint too sure about the special team coach, hes a little off kilter occasionally... LOL....

not saying they will win it all, but they have a great shot this year...
Those two DE’s come off the edge like Usain Bolt😂 it’s a race to the QB
