Dudley/KM will be a great game. Would give edge to Dudley, but KM is a different team this year. Dudley while not as explosive as last years is a better team on the field. They spread ball around more and are more balanced. Dudley absolutely dominated KM last year, and not just KM but the entire playoffs. Hell they had 69 points vs. Rose, w/o scoring in the 4th quarter. Dudley is always the favorite in 3A.
I don’t know about “absolute domination” smh. Domination is the way KM start beating on West Charlotte from the opening whistle in Charlotte last year after a certain poster on here predicted that WC would have no trouble with 3A teams because of the conference it plays in. I am trying to remember that poster’s name. He immediately went into hiding after that decapitation in Charlotte lol.
KM actually led in yards gained at the half of the Dudley game last year and was tied with Dudley at the half 7-7. KM missed a field goal in the first half after one drive and had another first half stall out after penalties. Dudley had a explosive 3rd quarter when it went to the no huddle and scored two quick td’s. KM then drove the ball deep into Dudley territory before Dudley picked off a pass in the end zone killing a great drive that would have cut it to 20-14. That sealed the game in my opinion. Dudley scored twice more in the 3rd quarter to put it out of reach. Our youth on defense caught up with us against a veteran team and great coaching staff. The move to go no huddle on our young defense was brilliant as was the move of putting the Duke commit in at corner right before the interception. He made a great play on the ball. Great coaching by Dudley on the fly. Great experience for our young kids last year to see what the mountain top of 3A ball looks like.

Not sure who you are referencing or if you are referencing me. KM beat WC by 10, and it was self inflicted first quarter damage and somewhat over looking KM that lead to the early lead. KM was in no way shape or form anywhere close to Mallard Creek, Hough, nor Chambers so it wasn't a slight on KM just saying there would not be a 3A team that would present the similar or greater challenge then those in there conference. That's not to say KM was not a better team than WC as they were last year and will be this year too. Expect a rematch of WC/KM, and KM/Dudley.

KM is very well coached. Lloyd used to be at Crest, and had success at East Gaston. If you can win at east Gaston at any level you are a great coach. While KM has a great record and great scores have a feelign last years team was better. Think they 3A West is down a bunch this year. KM is clearly the favorite but them not winning it all or a suprise winner would not surprise me. Same for 4A too. East Forsyth and Grimsley look to be favorites but have a feeling neither makes it to the ship game. Crazy balanced year this year.

I do not disagree with your football assessment overall. I agree nothing is a given in any of the divisions with maybe the exception of Tarboro in 1A. Yep I was referencing you because you did do a lot of talking last year before the playoffs started about what WC was going to do because of their conference schedule. You were mentioning that it will basically be a cakewalk until the Dudley game for your Lions. It was good natured trash talk on my part but I do believe that KM snatched control of the game early primarily due to some under estimation on the WC sideline. Once we adjusted defensively after the first couple of series I felt it was KM’s game to lose. I do expect WC to make it to KM in the 3rd round. Should be a great environment for WC.

West is very young this year and starts a freshman at QB. Lack of offensive passing and overall cohesion will really hurt WC in the playoffs. WC underestimating KM did hurt them badly. Once KM had the lead they played keep away as they should have. KM is a very well coached team. Not that any other team isnt. But u can never tell any coach they arent as good as another or that their team isnt coached as well as another. But KM is really coached well. If Crest ever looks for another HC sure he would be top of the list.

If WC keeps getting the athletes they got this year as freshmen they will be really good in 2-3 years. Coach Greiner will build a great culture/team there if he stays long term.

You think Cramer has any chance with WC?

Cramer has a chance because of their qb. He can singlehandedly keep them in the game. The problem is Cramer’s defense, it is absolutely horrendous. Can’t stop a paper cut from bleeding. WC offense should be able to get going pretty good on these guys.
