How do yal think we should renovate?

I vote for tearing down the grand stand and building it exactly like the miss braves. keep our outfield the way it is. But build a larger hill in right.

Tear down bleachers in RF, make a big tailgating terraced area out there, from the grandstand all the way around the opponent's bullpen and into RF. Don't mess with the rest of the OF, but this way, anybody can come in and watch and have a big area to do it. If we're going to extend the grandstand, I'd like to do that in LF. But you could possibly do the same thing over there.

I don't really have an opinion either way on the grandstand. I never went up in the skyboxes, but I hear they were built pretty ******.

Take down the bleachers and extend the chairbacks where the bleachers were. The first few rows, I guess they're box seats, I would reserve those going down the right feild line for the dudes

This is not a bad idea. We just have to have some general admission seating that's better than the current bleachers. Grandstands with a better angle to the actual play would be OK.

Tear down the bleachers and build up a grassy knoll. I've always been jealous of parks with places to just set up a spot on the grass and hang out.

We have enough "hangouts" with the LF lounge and the rest of the OF. What we need are better sightlines and more chairbacks. That's what should be done down the left and right field lines.

Only people who know the LFL guys can go to those. We need places where anybody can come and 'hang out' as you all have said. Again, Ole Miss is a model to copy when it comes to this.

I know. I'm talking about the terraces they have in the OF. Obviously we can't do it the exact same way though. Use a little independent thought. The 'idea' is a good one.

I dont mind adding something like that in the outfield. Though I much prefer our outfield to theirs any day. I just don't want anything that takes away butts in the grandstands. That's what looks good on TV.

Truth. They should film from behind the ump when they come to MSU. That would be trippy.

I've always been a proponent of keeping the bones of what we have and expanding from there, but the more I go to games, the more I think we need to start over. It's just not made to handle crowds greater than 6000.

- The main concession area is too small and causes congestion.
- Not enough restrooms.
- The make-shift concession areas create congestion.
- Permanent seat contracts and old farts who never come force people into the bleachers.
- The skyboxes suck
- The pressbox needs work
- No dedicated student area

If the money could be raised, I'd agree with building a new facility similar to those currently being built for minor league teams like the Mississippi Braves.

How often are we on TV at home... probably 5-10 times a season? Maybe 25% of our home games are televised, with most of those on Sportsouth or CSS. Baseball games get nowhere near the ratings of other sports. I wouldn't make any decisions for baseball based on how it looks on TV.

You know, I could live with Dudy for another 15 years or so if it just didn't look like **** concrete. Brick the 17er and i would be fine with it. Similar to what they're doing to Davis Wade.

Whatever we do, I just don't want it to decrease our capacity. Though it doesn't happen often, it's nice to be able to fit 15k when the time comes.

Ok...it looks better when your at the games then. If you can't see that fans in the grandstands is a good thing then something's wrong with you. And its not just how it looks on tv (though that's a big plus) its complimenting the fans for their support. Bleachers are old and ugly and I know I dont want to sit on a freakin berme. I've been to games where the chairbacks were sold out and maybe half at best actually show up and sit in them.

I like a lot of what they did at Carolina Stadium. If we expanded the grandstands down the LF and RF lines, angling them where you can actually see the action, that would be a huge help. I might leave them as bleachers, just "built-in" bleachers a la Hoover Met. Carolina also has a really tall bleacher section near the foul pole in Left Field. I could see that, or going with an Ole Miss style "terrace" in right field that is first come, first served and "bring your own chair." That would give an LFL experience that is free to all and probably make a lot of folks happy. The idea of just a hill to sit on, though, I don't really get.

I'd really like to maintain the highest capacity, though, even if we only fill it up for SBW and postseason.

I would prefer to keep the existing, main structure, but the bleachers HAVE to go. Whatever we can do with the space they are presently in, do it. But they gotta go. I'm not sure about being able to symmetrically connect to each end of the existing stadium structure and run to the foul poles and still keep the proper sight lines. But if it could be done partially down the lines, or give up some lower seating I would do that over completely starting from scratch. Obviously, the skyboxes need renovation, but that can be done easily enough. I like the current location and demo/reconstruction on the same site would probably not be possible in 9 months. I also very much like the idea of grassy, landscaped, terraced berms partially down the lines both for aesthetics and viewing areas.

I'm dead serious. It would be really rad. There's a major league team that has one too.

Doubt we will ever see more then a little over 12k ever again. Unless we find a way to improve crowd traffic the fire Marshall will hold us back.

Does anybody know what the grandstand and sky boxes hold at the m-braves?

First thing they need to do is get rid of that damn pitiful Farm Bureau/State Farm banner behind home plate. It looks turrible on TV. Looks "high schoolish" to say the least. I liked the State baseball logo better they had a few years ago

Here's the problem with that...
