Congrats to Duke for a fine season. I attended all three games of the Super and was impressed with the visiting crowd as well as the way in which Duke players conducted themselves. We weren't enamored with the delay tactics intended to frustrate Kumar Rocker but in one sense they may have inspired him to finish as well as he did. I'm also impressed that after game 1 folks here seemed to realize that winning another was far from a given.
Ya'll deserve to have a baseball forum and I hope that sufficient interest develops where that can happen for you. I'm one of the few Kentucky residents who despises UK so thanks again to Duke and Christian Laettner for having permanently scarred the souls of the Big Blue Nation (who Vandy fans refer to as the Blue Mist since they seemingly are always crying about something including their never-ending claim that Laettner pushed off and walked).
Nice post KyDore. Its good to have a rival fan come in peace for a change. Btw I have tremendous respect for Vandy not only athletically, but even more important ACADEMICALLY.
Impressed with your fanbase and we greatly appreciate the STANDING OVATION given Kennie Taylor following the scary beaning on Friday nite. As a segue to the incident, I want to say I was very impressed ALSO with how OUR TEAM handled the situation. There was no malice directed toward your outstanding pitcher, or any retaliatory action of any kind. Please keep in mind we were also the victim of such an incident only two weeks prior.
I hope this eases any possible ill will you and/or your fans hold against our coach for "delay tactics"from Duke coach Chris Pollard you mention toward your pitcher. Chris Pollard is a prized possession to us and we treasure him and his integrity. Best of luck rest of the way, and congratulations!!!
