Not just that, but we criticize thr for their dumbass moderating, why ban someone for simply being a fan of another team? Unless he becomes a huge troll or disrespectful, he should be able to entertain us.

He's not been banned...yet...lol.

Do other fan bases think we're sensitive about Lance Thomas' jewelry? Evidence suggests Lance took a loan from a third party based on his pro potential. If that's the extent of Duke's dirty laundry, we have very little to be concerned about.

I don't know how far you venture from here to other MBs, but the Lance Thomas jewelry story is a huge deal to other fan bases. Especially the paranoid sector of the UK fan base. They hear NCAA to look into Lance Thomas and they go AhHa! Then they hear the NCAA found nothing to suggest that Duke provided impermissible benefits and they go ape **** with conspiracy theories. Then there's the Corey Maggette case that keeps getting brought up to support their theories which is another example of their unwillingness to consider facts. But I'll let our good friend Wall2Boogie tell us more about that.

Last year abut this time I was score keeping a jr. league baseball game. I had on Duke gear ( I think it was a 2015 National Championship T-shirt and my score keeping 15 year old Duke cap. This UK fan came by and had something smart to say about the championship we had won. It was in the way of Duke lucking it's way to the championship game by avoiding UK. I ask him if he had a 40-0 T-shirt because I wanted to see one and the next game that I had his baseball team would he wear it. He said something I don't remember but he went on without any more conversation and I did not see him again until tonight and for some odd reason I had on the same hat a shirt. He walked up to me before the game. I was trying to get set up for the game and was in a hurry and I wasn't in the mood to pittle with him. He said something to the effect of " I guess you guys are set up now. You go out and get all these 5 star McDonald All-Americans. How many you got on the team now?." It pissed me off and said just what should Duke do. Do you think maybe that Coach K be allowed to have only 3 Mac All-Americans on the team each year. Isn't that what Cal does. He sort of back tracked some and said he understood why Duke was getting so many top notched players and more power to Duke. I ask him what his point was and he just went on about his business. Can't even wear Duke gear anymore without some UK or other fans that are in abundance in tar heel* County irritating the crap out of you. OFC

I love how they ( and other fanbases) hang on to the Maggette thing. It's comical. Not even an ounce of common sense goes into their thinking. Just the way I like it. Even the truth is in left field to them.

The Lance 'deal' is just kind of out there. I'm almost certain Duke had their hands clean because it would be way too sloppy.... Am I certain? No, probably not. However, when UK and UNC fans are your jury you know their answer...evidence or not. In a way, their incompetence is a win for us. One of many.

I know exactly how you feel. I was at my local bar a couple weeks or so ago when this guy I know that's a UNCheat fan (I can't remember his name because he's one of those people that you only see every once in awhile fortunately) and he came up to me and told me that he was going to buy me a UNCheat shirt then every time he came up to me throughout the night he'd say the same thing every friggin time. I was getting dangerously close punching him in the throat. I can handle a person saying something like that once or twice without it getting under my skin but when the same person says the same thing repeatedly throughout the night it just gets beyond annoying. I've got other friends at the same bar that are UNCheat fans that give me a hard time but it's all in fun. The next time I see that guy at the bar and he comes up to me and says the same thing, I'm gonna tell him one time and one time only that I don't want to hear his s*** and if he keeps it up he's gonna piss me off

Kentucky has played exactly 2 road games in the past two seasons against ranked teams - neither were SEC opponents, of course. Stellar competition indeed.

You should also mention that they lost one, and the one they won was still in the state of Kentucky.
I feel like Duke had at least two road games against top 25 opponents within the past two seasons in just a matter of two weeks. No wonder they almost went 40-0

We played consecutive road games vs. top 25 teams this year when we got UNC and Louisville in the same week. Last year, we had back-to-back road games against two top 10 teams in Notre Dame and Virginia. The year before, we got Pitt and Syracuse on back-to-back road games against ranked opponents. So yes, essentially we've been able to consistently do in one week what Kentucky does over a two-year period - play two road games against ranked teams.

I think Duke is in pretty good shape when people have to take time machines repeatedly back 16 years to bring up the Maggette thing which is over and done with. What was that old Jethro Tull song? "Living in the Past"?

It's pick up ball in Lexington and Durham these days. Shirts and skins. Duke and Kentucky are NBA farm teams basically.

Really looking forward to how this class gels with the guys that are already there. There will be plenty of fire power, but I'm interested to see how our defense and rebounding improves.

I'm sort of interested to know what Tatum is like as a defender. Does anyone have the ability to comment on that? He seems like he has the physical gifts to be very good. Just curious where he is in his development on the defensive side.

Corey Maggette took money from Myron Piggie BEFORE Duke even recruited 'im. Also , Piggie had zero interest in luring Maggette to Duke anyway. Duke had no knowledge of it. At all. Duke couldn't have possibly known about any of it so they weren't sanctioned. It happened when Corey was , like , 15 or something. Now , the rebuttal to that will sound something like this..."Ok , Duke didn't know about it. Fine. And even though Duke unwittingly used an ineligible player they STILL used an ineligible player. Therefore any games he played in should be vacated." Eventually the NCAA would adopt something of a "strict liability" policy to cover these types of situations but it wasn't in effect until AFTER Corey's situation. And , as we've seen with the unx situation , "strict liability" is whatever the NCAA decides it is ( or isn't ) anyway. Rivals can hate but this is a situation they need to let go of. There's nuthin' there.
