Can't argue against any news outlet for trying to sell papers. I mean its not like its "fake news." OFC
I don't follow boxing much anymore, but isn't Mayweather known as one of the best boxers ever, pound for pound? It would seem that alone would be quite impressionable for teenagers. By Duke welcoming him doesn't mean in any way they condone any of his past transgressions.

Besides, the old print rags are losing. There's a reason they're dying off around the country. The biggest reason is probably the constant technology battle, but integrity is another.

Where did the Duke welcomes him surface? If he paid for his ticket he's like any other person to come in and see the game. It makes it sound like the Duke team welcomed him. If Duke provided him the tickets as complimentery its a different story. I bet the Duke coaching staff didnt even knokw he was there until the rest of us did. I didnt even recognize him until his name was mentioned. I'm sure there have been lots of questionable characters that have attended Duke games. To me this is just a petty act by some anti - Duke fans looking for something. Ridiculas. OFC

Well inserting "integrity" here is an interesting strategy. No offense, but putting journalistic integrity up against that of a high profile repeat convicted offender of assault charges against women is a complete mismatch.

My point was that no one is perfect, and there are probably people in those stands that would make Mayweather look like a saint. I don't condone what he did, but this is a country that believes that people that pay for their crimes are allowed a 2nd chance. No problem, we just see this differently.

I never mentioned his acts were petty. I know what he is and you know I wouldn't never condone something like that. Look at what I said. He bought the tickets. They weren't given to him. Duke as an institution had nothing to do with him being in attendance. What was Coach K supposed to do have security have him escorted out. Idc care about magic or others. I care about my all time favorite program which has routinely set the standard and done things the right way. If he has a ticket I have no issue. But for our program, players and coaches to fawn over a man who beat the mother of his children. 4 different accounts over 10 years of him beating women. This is not a man who lost his temper once and yelled at his wife people.

People do bad things, no one is perfect, and we as humans tend to label people imperfections like we have a right to judge them. Wrong is wrong. Some people learn from mistakes and some people are just monsters all together. Who are we to say Mayweather is peace of crap because of what he did years ago. If he hasn't had any reports of it lately, maybe he did his time and has changed, but regardless the man should get to enjoy life as we all do. And I say this as someone whose dad beat his .on when he was just a toddler. I dont label my dad to this day for something he did 40 years ago, he regrets it, learned from it, and Im sure he still carries the guilt. I love my dad to death and respect the man he is today, but both my parents have remarried and moved on, it's sad media and some people can't forgive and move on, I sure am glad the Lord does when we ask His forgiveness.

In all seriousness, when I seen him on tv, I was like " oh wow Money Mayweather is at the game sitting next to Quinn". I never once thought of him as a wife beater. I honestly never knew about it, as I'm sure there are many who haven't.

Why does this country hate Floyd so much? He's from Detroit, won Olympic Gold, spends his billions in country, is great with kids and loves his fans. Sure, he was obnoxious at one point... around 10 years ago, but he's clearly a completely different person.

This is America. All jokes aside it is still the greatest country in the world and I love it. Mayweathet isn't the best example of a model citizen most of us can agree on that. But him being at a Basketball game acting friendly with players isnt an offense to Duke or the kids.

I dont fault any young man that wants to sit next to a guy worth over half a billion dollars and take pictures. Most know of his past mistakes and his transgressions but what's done is done, Cook and those young men seem like good guys, they know the difference in right and wrong. I dont hold any of this against them or the University.
