We have no room to start off lackadaisical on Saturday. Whatever this funk was tonight, I hope it stays in Boston.
Take a win any day of the week. Happy K went zone, that seemed to change the game along with Bakers energy.

Liked the move to zone - it is good to have something else in the toolbox. I also like that they extended it and trapped a little out of it. I think that, as much as anything, was a way to sort of manufacture energy. I could easily see more pep in their step during that stretch. Great move by K.

Oh and we shot 88% FT vs. Syracuse and 80% against Boston College tonight, which offset our poor 3 point shooting!

It was an ugly win but it was a win and it was Coach K’s 500th career ACC win. He has a 275 win lead over Roy Williams in the ACC among active coaches.

I’ll take it!! Sometimes it’s hard to beat a team that you smoked by almost 40 at home, on rivalry week. This is one instance where the focus probably wasn’t where it needed to be. I’m just glad it wasn’t so far off that we gave a game away! I loved the 3/4 zone press and Joey great.
Just finished the game. Man, that was ugly to watch but I’ll take it.
I have a feeling we’ll play with a little more energy and a little more focus on Saturday. This was a trap game. Still no excuse for how we played throughout. But we are still young and it’s tough to get young players to focus and play with a sense of urgency at all times.

I still hate the fact we’ve already played some teams twice and have yet to play some teams at all.
The game never showed up on my ESPN app and I forgot to DVR it. Sure glad I read this thread so now I can just go to bed instead of waiting up all night for the replay. Sounds like we can all just move on to UNC.

Could be wrong, but I really think it might have been one of those trap games. A bad team sandwiched in coming off a great win at Cuse and then looking ahead to a big rivalry game and then a big big game against Florida State.
Didn’t watch the game and could be looking at this the wrong way.. but it was nice to see a 10 man rotation with 8 of the 10 players playing 10+ minutes (jack played 9 and AOC played 8) in a close conference game...

Good tough win. I love the flexibility Wendell gives us on the floor. If we had him we definitely would’ve beaten Clemson. If we can keep finding ways to win in ugly games it’ll pay off in the end. We may have to make a starting lineup change because we’ve started slow the last 3 or so games. That can’t keep happening. Outside of that I feel the February run coming that we get on every year. Road to the 1 seed
I too was wondering why Cassius was on the bench the last 10 minutes. Has has proven in other games he can be the spark, and wow did we need a spark last night!! I just assume K saw something last night that he thought would work better that didn't involve Cassius, and we won the game, so all good. Maybe the zone?
