Luke and Amile are playing out of their mind, and last night we saw glimpses of what Tatum brings to the table. But please don't forget how special of a player Grayson is and will be. He's an All-American who right now is playing hobbled and leaving everything on the floor.
He can play smarter, similar to 2nd half. That he can do. He clearly doesn't have a bad case of turf toe as that could require surgery. I'm assuming he guts it out the next two weeks then gets a good Christmas break to be ready for Vtech on the 31st.Grayson had a very rough first half. He would be the first to tell you that. In the second half he was spectacular. He stopped forcing and took just four shots (making two) and his passing and defense were great. I can live with that.

All I can say is "Holy Sh*t"!!!!!!. Just cannot wait until we get everyone back with a little rest and healing. We have strong subs at the 2,3,4,and 5. Subs at point are more than adequate, just not great. I would love to see what UNCheat fans are saying over at THR, but, alas, I have been banned.

I came on here to comment on Grayson's second half performance and you said what needed to be said. There were some comments that he should be on the bench in second half because of his shot selection/poor scoring. He showed why that would have been the wrong decision. He played extremely smart taking just four shots and turning his game to a support role.
Toughest kid on the team.
If you slowed down to read people's posts and not jump the gun you would maybe understand others better. I said he clearly doesn't have a BAD case of turf toe. If you have turf toe really bad you shut it down or get surgery as you can make it substantially worse by playing on it. So with Grayson playing on it, one can clearly assume it's not a bad case. Annoying, yes, not letting him practice, yes but something he can play through. So Grayson clearly does not have turf toe? Nasty, you KNOW that. I mean , do you two hang out? Does he have any kind of toe injury? Is he just playing with a fake limp? The kid is hurt. You act like you want more from him. He's been playing his GD guts out for us. I really don't understand you sometimes.
You don't bench someone and not bring them back in, you bench them to clear their head and make sure they understand their roles/responsibilities. K clearly got the message across at half time.I came on here to comment on Grayson's second half performance and you said what needed to be said. I've been banned twice but I'll log out occasionally to see what's being talked about over there that might not have made it into our THR threadAll I can say is "Holy Sh*t"!!!!!!. Nasty, I like what you said about taking him out of the game and coaching him and then reinserting him. When you say bench a player, it rubs a lot of us the wrong way.You don't bench someone and not bring them back in, you bench them to clear their head and make sure they understand their roles/responsibilities. or the opposite, everyone glares over all the compliments but only see's the comments posted about someone needing to play better. Believe me, a lot of praise on Amile, Luke, Tatum, but it's easier to discuss imperfection, and debate on ways to improve. We had 3 players that were unreal, then 3 that were on the opposite end. It was a different game, and easy to heap praise on some and critique on others.Yea, I read how you wrote it, maybe you didn't write it how you meant it. I'm not hatin on ya, but it does drive me absolutely insane when we are playing well and somebody in the game thread can only point out the faults going on. Maybe that's just me.
i agree, and i'll say it again. I think he needs to do less and let the game come to him more and not be so locked in to just scoring. I have no problem with him taking 20 shots if they're good, but with our talent, no one should be forcing it.And, I seriously do not know how any human alive could ask anymore of Grayson Allen. That's the toughest little SOB I have ever seen wear a Duke uni, and we've had some tough ones.
Agree. The thing I think Grayson is doing too much of is trying to draw contact. He gets criticized by other fanbases as a "flopper." I think it is more he is trying too hard to draw contact. But he is definitely a tough kid.i agree, and i'll say it again. I think he needs to do less and let the game come to him more and not be so locked in to just scoring. In his last three games, Duke's Amile Jefferson scored 61 points (20.3), grabbed 37 rebounds (12.3), and hit 26 of his 37 FG (70%). Damn.

He doesn't hate Duke. He just knows that everyone else hates Duke, so he's reduced to cloaking his Duke love in concrete stats LOLBut... But... But Bilas hates Duke.

*waits calmly for the if-Luke-Maye-made-one-more-shot-per-game statistic*But how dare he draw favorable attention to our team!
Love Grayson.
He is not as tough as Kyle Singler![]()
If you locked those two in a room for 5 minutes, Grayson walks out with Kyles femur bone in his mouth.
Kyle would still be ballin' femur-less hahaIf you locked those two in a room for 5 minutes, Grayson walks out with Kyles femur bone in his mouth.
