I must have missed that, but if so, then yes absolutely. I'd also add his head flailing he does constantly. Fantastic player, but he needs to grow up.

I got talked down to on the Louisville Duke thread for saying Grayson Allen is acting like a punk, and tonight further proves it. Incoming trash talk again defending him.
Mayes was pissing him off with cheap crap before the trip. Still, no reason to stoop to that level.
Grayson needs to get his $h!+ together.

2. If he thinks the refs will not be looking for it in the future, he's high
3. This will be played over and over and over again by every upcoming team.
4. Teams will be targeting him -- just a punk-*** move.

ESPN is running the Grayson video as "Grayson Allen is up to his dirty tricks again". I defended him against that Dana O'Neil piece where she basically requested violence toward Grayson, but this is out of hand. He deserves this rep.
That's the difference between the greats and the rest. They just beat you where it counts and then maybe tell you about it every now and again. The tripping is bush league. Sure he's getting hit, beaten, scratched, etc, but who doesn't at any high level of basketball. It's a part of the game. Tripping is not.

There's enough Duke hate going around for a dirty tag to be placed on this team. They're doing too many special things to have this hanging over them.

He certainly made a mistake and needs to pay for it, but I haven't lost respect for him if he can come out and do the right thing. If not, I'm with you.

- I'll say this and you can have your own opinion. At Duke we make great pros and men. That is part of the reason why these kids come here. Grayson is 19 and still growing up. Being here at Duke is a process and with our staff he will get there. I don't like it, I don't. But I love our Duke kids and yeah Grayson is one of my all time favorites so I got extra at bat for him. He's made some mistakes but honestly this isn't the end of the world. If he had to sit one game I could stand by that. I trust him and I trust K.
I agree that he should not be tripping but suspension is ridicules. The Florida state player didn't seem too upset so he could have provoked it. Next game
Grayson plays hard and Chrisitan did the same crap. Enjoy the hate people I hope everyone hates Duke and always does. If the coaches think it needs to be addressed it will be but like many of y'all said in the Roy TO thread "much ado about nothing" ain't that right @harttochesson
To each is own. I think a suspension and apology is warranted. Basketball is a privilege, not a right.

My point is that this team deserves better than being known for Grayson tripping kids. They are doing things their own fans were saying they can't do. They don't deserve this distraction.

Yeah people are overracting, suspend for the last three games. Yeah it was stupid but it wasn't like he turned punched someone. How many games do you give someone that does that. Or intentional elbow? Yes, it was stupid and he needs to cut it out. But I'm not giving up on him either. I think maybe sit him to start the Pitt game. It would only of been a tech, suspending three games or more would way to harsh. Stone from Maryland only got one game for intentionally slamming a players face into the court. I would think that is a lot worse then what Allen has done.
Pisgah -- I also enjoy people hating Duke, IF they hate us because:
1. We win the right way
2. Being good guys on and off the court
3. Having a clean program
4. Maintaining high academic standards
I think tripping a guy on national TV when we are winning anyway makes Duke look bush league. I love tenacity and grit, I don't love vengeful, petty behavior.
Its not like Coach K is calling me asking for advice. I trust K, whatever he thinks is appropriate, then I'm fine. I think Grayson needs to have some consequences for his actions - and he will one way or another.

I expect a one game suspension. He deserves it. I love Grayson, and I bet if they look at the whole tape they will see he retaliated, but I think he could use a lesson in how individual actions can effect the team. Let him stay in Durham for the Pitt game and let him sweat it out like the rest of us.
