Did you see Matt Jones against Bridges? You seem reluctant to mention that. Also, Mason made shots against everyone. Including a fall away 15 footer for the win. IF you were watching, Matt Jones took away the drive to the rim. Which was very good defense. He forced a tough two point shot, while he was also contesting said shot. Which is exactly what any coach would want out of a defender.
You have the right to your own opinion for this post and the rest of them. Happy you aren't coaching this team and that's my opinion. Can't help but suspect you've posted here before under another user name. OFC

Good lord, he stopped penetration and forced the guy into a pull up shot from much farther away from the basket. Would everyone have preferred that he just let him run by for a lay up instead?
I'll take forcing a pull up jumper from there any day as there are probably only a few players in the country that would make that on even a remotely regular basis.

Matt Jones did everything i said on that play. Also, when I played ball, it was never easy to block a guy wo is fading away. I was taught that was good defense to make a guy take a contested 2 point shot. Whether you are arguing 3 or 6 inch jumps, it doesn't matter.

Yea, I'm not gonna sit quietly while a fly by moron discusses how Jeter ruins our team. Fact of the matter is, Jeter really helped this team, in fact saved our *** when the chips were down a few times. Is he Okafor? No, but he does contribute to this team , big at times. Get that crap outta here.
arguing small points but Frank really didn't fade away, if anyone faded away it was actually matt. He was falling back as he jumped, that's what I meant by the shot wasn't contested. Believe me I don't think Matt played poor D in this case, but I also don't think it was a difficult shot. Now Frank's extreme talent got him the easy shot. Only quick guards would have gotten that shot vs Matt. He does better with the good players that are bigger, not as quick, perimeter oriented.

I know you aren't talking about me, but I do feel like Jeter isn't playing that good. He showed flashes vs Kansas, but since then and his sprained ankle (should be over it now) i've felt he hasn't played well. Although Bolden made a bunch of mistakes, I thought he showed things in his first game (and I guess hadn't practiced since injury) that Chase hasn't shown the ability to do yet. His offensive rebounds and put backs, his blocked shot. I do think chase has improved since last year, but not much. I expect his minutes to really decrease if Bolden stays healthy and we get Giles back. I'm completely fine with everyone developing at the pace best for them, I'm just glad when healthy we have options this year.
Duke 23 is it that you look for the negatives in Dukes players instead of the positives. Of course it's your business but consider this, maybe Matt Jones is not flashy, doesn't always shoot well and has a bit of trouble with his athleticism at times which also describes Jeter pretty well most games. However, thats just the down side to them, not the up side where Jones puts all out 110%, can hit 3 or 4 unexpected 3's a game, gets steals and plays really consistent defense and usually guards the other teams better player. Jeter will block some shots every game, plays decent defense, gets tough rebounds and give us 5 to 8 points a game and currently fills a much needed, big man presence in the post. The positives outweigh the negatives for both players. Jeter's upside and potential is more than Vranks and thats why K plays him more. Just look for the positives and you can enjoy the team more.
I can't be sure but something tells me @WidowMaker19, @Duke-23 and Crank_it_loud crawled out of the same ooze.
It is fun when they show their true colors.

It's quite possible that all these negative fans of other teams using the board and just saying they are Duke fans. crankit/vrankit has had to shots at it and Duke- 23 is no true Duke fan. As for widowmaker19 I haven't paid that much attention to him but it's obvious if they are Duke fans they are very childish and are very negative people . OFC
Y'all know how I feel so not going to say anything but this whole "jeter ruins our team" is garbage. I think he's shown great improvement from last year(which I thought he shoulda got more pt)

You seem to be putting words in others mouths. The very thing you mention not wanting to happen. You want it both ways, but you can't have it both ways. So which is it?

Matt Jones is the type of player no one seems to appreciate...until he is gone.
Matt & Chase are both valuable members of this Duke team. The fact K plays them as much proves it. You don't win 1000+ games, and 5 National Championships by being stupid, or sentimental.
