Yeah that got 2. Was it stupid yes. Did he stop an easy 2 yes. Allen didn't know they were gonna call a Flagrant 1 but if he didn't stop Barber it coulda been a drive with a +1. We won. All that matters. Now onto the IrishAnd how many points did NCSU end up with because of that? OFC
Grayson and his antics are costing his team and his style of play is diminished because he is not getting calls when he attacks the basket thus not getting to the line. Refs are swallowing the whistle. He needs to grow up.
Agreed it was stupid but I have seen many people do that and the only reason it was a big deal was because it was Grayson. There was no intent at all expect to try and stop a runout.I disagree slightly. The play in this game wasn't dirty whatsoever or even an 'antic'....it was just stupid. There's a difference, IMO.
I understand your point. The play on Cat is not my issue as much as what he has already done with the trips. He is not getting to the line as much as he did earlier in the year. His attack mentality is his strength and has been hampered by the lack of calls or benefit of the doubt by officials.I disagree slightly. The play in this game wasn't dirty whatsoever or even an 'antic'....it was just stupid. There's a difference, IMO.
I like (love) Grayson's drive and skill. His actions are NOT helping Duke. That was a flagrant foul and the refs called it right. He needs to keep his head in the game.Agreed it was stupid but I have seen many people do that and the only reason it was a big deal was because it was Grayson. There was no intent at all expect to try and stop a runout.
And if that call was at the end of the game to send them to the line nothing extra woulda been called. Ticky tack calls against us right now
You mean you'd choose someone other than Plumlee?
With Crank - it was an obvious intentional foul but By NO MEANS malicious in any respect. Of course the ESPN "B" team of McDonough/Burke went into all out assault mode keeping with the Skipper treatment at ESPN...Grayson tried to stop a break, big deal.
Survive and advance.

I hear ya Hokie!Bingo. How about some of the late game fouls players make where all they do is wrap their arms around someone? That's the same foul. Grayson's foul was a "reputation" foul if nothing else. I have no issues with what he did, and I'm the A-hole who thought he should have been suspended for the second trip. Haha

They had the earlier game tapes locked and loaded, and you could sense the sorrow in McDonough's voice over the Duke win...
Also, I'll take Grayson and his antics any time. Love his fire.
Look no further than 8 miles down the roadSame here. I am agrivated when he does some of his stunts, but remember each and ever one was in the heat of the moment and a reaction with no time to think. If he ran down the court and pulled a stunt like he has pulled, I would have a serious issue with it. He has a competive fire burning in him to win and he hasw no power to turn ir off and on. I for one want that fire and strong desire to win to continue. There are a lot of teams out there that would love to have his fire on their team.
To be honest, it's like what Duke fans dealt with when Hans was around. I hate the guy, and I know most if not all posters do on this board, but him on the 2007-09 teams would have transformed those teams into legit ff contenders.^^
Exactly! They continue to throw rocks his way, but would be unbeatable with him and they know that. I don't blame them for their envy though!
Those "UNC can do no wrong" fans can just kiss by big white butt, especially the poster Kerosayshitt, the Lance Thomas jewelry talking idiot who even UNC fans dislike.Leave it to the buffoon squad over at THR to act as if Grayson was out there intentionally tripping people again....Just a complete lack of intelligence....Please read how they write it up....If someone who didn't see the play read their nonsense that person would think it was equal if not worse than his trips this year....When in reality it was nothing more than an intentional common foul, which happens in almost every game in the last few seconds....Was it intentional, yes....Was it malicious, not in the slightest....Duke has so much real estate in their heads over there it is comical.
Wasn't Grayson's "intentional foul" a strategic foul to stop the fast break? I didn't even think twice about it being a frustration or unsportsman-like play.. That same thing is done in the NBA every game.
The flagrant foul on Grayson Allen was probably the correct call, but in no way was it a dirty play. There was absolutely no intent to harm Cat Barber on that play, just simply prevent NCST from getting an easy bucket in transition.
As for the performance of the team, I loved what I seen from Plumlee today. The stats were great, but the leadership and toughness he displayed was awesome to see and will be greatly missed after this season. I was also pleasantly surprised to Jeter play well in his limited minutes. It would be great if he could play at the level he did for 10-15 minutes per game the rest of this season.
