Truly not a better time of the year. This week and next week you watch games almost the entire day...Right now, I would love to be at Show's house at the ACC tournament...but I never seem to be one of the cool guys on the board that gets his invite.


I know many aren't going to want to hear this - but I can promise you, Duke wants it. We remember all too well how badly they beat us in our first loss of the year. I kind of like that it will give us more fuel.

Keys to the game are pretty simple. We've got to contain the dribble drive and contest shots - especially from Lacy and Ralston. In the paint, it's BeeJay Anya. He's a load - very amble and crafty for his size.

Ultimately, we get this win and we get it relatively easily. Game is slated for a 7pm est. tip and will air on ESPNHD

I want to see us come out hot from the start and keep it up until the final buzzer. We need to keep Lacey and Turner from shooting from 3 like they did against us in the first game. If we do that as well as keep Barber from driving to the basket whenever he wants and also make our shots then we get the win and go onto the semi finals on Friday night.

We are at that point in the year and I am brimming with excitement and nervousness. I am hoping for a revenge victory for two reasons, one I always want us to win and two, I am going to semifinal Friday. So I hope we kick State's butt Thursday night. I think we come out fired up and jump on them early. They will make a push back, but, I just get the feeling that this team will be able to handle whatever comes at them right now. I think we win. And that is the goal this time of the year, survive and advance. LET'S GO DUKE!!!!!

Even though they had it handed to them by State the first game, they made a run at the end. I think they learn from that game and come out on a mission tonight. Duke by 14

I was at the tourney yesterday and I must say that Cat Barber put on a show. Duke will have it hands full with him and the other shooter that State has. The Blue Devils will survive, but I feel like it will be a battle. OFC

Listening to local radio, it sounds like we don't have a chance against NC State. Apparently Barber, Lacey and Turner make every shot they take or can drive to the rim at will and no one can score on State's big guys.

I think Winslow is the X factor in this one. Duke by 9.

This is a very dangerous game right here.

I haven't seen the very latest bracketology so IDK if State is in or out at the moment, but a win tonight and I'd have to think they are in.

Very very dangerous, wouldn't surprise me at all to see our boys go down because of the situation, plus we have won what now 11 in a row?

This game is interesting. State is the kind of team that we would face in the Second Round of the NCAA tourney. Can be very good when on, but bad all the same. The reason they end up with like an 8 or 9 seed. They beat us bad at State. They made every blooming shot they took. I would think that Duke has the motivation of revenge. But, State is playing well. This game is a bit scary to me.

And, it was after the State game and then the Miami game, when K went zone against Louisville. I wonder if this will be the plan in this game, since we struggled in man the first game? If State doesn't make every shot they take, again, Duke should win. Tyus Stones finds a way to win the game. He always does.

Duke has watched the tape on our prior NC State loss. Grayson and Justise should both be effective scorers in this one. Big Jah needs to focus on defending the cup tonight.

I think its gonna be a close one also. They are a good team. Their guards aren't the best matchup for us. They have typically played us pretty well recently. I hope we will but it will be tough

No invites to Show's ACC Party because there is no party. The end of all day Friday games has really put the damper on what we do every year. Nobody wants to do it on a Thursday. Sucks, gonna have to come up with a new plan. It does save 900 to a grand outta my pocket though.

Hope that Cat has got all his ya ya's out but they still have weapons. I hope we use Jah down low enough that they have to triple team him and leave it wide open on the perimeter. Yes all the talk is about how much of a problem NCSU can be for us but Duke is a handful for them. Okafor, T, Jones, M.Jones, Winslow, Cook and even now Grayson can be a scoring nightmare because all of them can put up 20 on you.

I love the fact that the ACC championship game is on primetime Saturday night, but I absolutely hate how it's changed the old format too. I always looked forward to slipping out of the office on Thursday and Friday afternoon to watch games. Now that thrill is kind of gone. Oh well.

DJ they still have games at noon and 2:30 today. will stink for slinking out early tomorrow though thats for sure.

I for one miss the Sunday afternoon championship, but I digress...

Two totally different teams coming into today. Duke has found an identity and State has lost theirs' IMO. This Duke team has film on what State can do at their best. State doesn't have the same for this Duke team. Duke will be prepared and will win down the stretch. It'll be a tight one until the free throws.

NC State is a horrible 1st game for us to have and containing Barber, who is playing great basketball is the key to this game. If Lacey gets 20 and Barber goes off again like he did yesterday and gets another 30 points plus we'll in for a tough time and could lose this one. If they have their usual game though we'll get a close win.

I think we will contain Barber better that Pitt did and get the win.

I'm concerned about this game. Really good guard play seems to be our bug-a-boo the last few years and State has them. I imagine this game will be extremely uncomfortable and close. A great defensive performance would be a really good sign this team is different. Also I never feel like Duke plays extremely well in the first game of the ACC Tournament for whatever reason.

Really nervous about this game, I'm nervous for all tournament games because it's lose and go home but this one especially so. NCSU has real talent and that trio of guards/wings are very tough to defend. Will be a tough game.

Don't see them hitting the 3 ball like they did last time vs us, it was crazy. Will be tough but I will be very disappointed if we lose. This team seems to be on a mission now, I hope it begins here. at any rate, I want to see this team in the FF this year, screw the early outs, time to do work.

Well, since Gottfried arrived at NC State, I believe they have made at least the Semi-Final of the ACCT every year? This is really not a good match-up for Duke, but if we are going to make any noise, now is the time!
We find out tonight where we stand. They cause more problems for us that almost anyone else in the Tourney. That being said, I just cannot see us letting this get away. Duke survives and advances to Semis.

As good as we've been playing and as good a feeling as I have in the NCAA tourney I don't feel good about this game. They have been able to get up for us lately . I hope I am wrong and we win but I am not as confident as I normally am for some reason.

It's March Kailman, thats why, got to just concentrate on how well we're playing right now. We're going into this game playing our best basketball of the season. And if that is the case, all other things being equal we will not lose. GO DUKE!

I think State is confident they can beat Duke. But they beat the old Duke, not the new improved Duke. We're different, and better. Still, State has guards that can give us huge problems, and they've got some pretty good bigs too. I think it will be a very tough game for us. It wouldn't surprise me if the Wolfpack beat us, but I think we can stop them enough to win a close game. Also we can't afford to miss our fts.

Holy smoke, Duke is all over the Wolfies!!! Defense is incredible, and we're scoring at will. Don't know how Cook missed that easy bunny, but that's about the only thing that has went wrong.

Great start so far! Cmon Quinn, make that layup!! Other than that, we look determined. I love the press and the zone. It is slowing them down and getting the ball out of Barber's hands. Keep this up. Get them down by a good amount early and it will kill their spirit.
