This gets me fired up. The beat player in the country back with 3 weeks rest is really something we’ve never seen

Yeah, Zion might be a little rusty, but Duke won't have to change things much to accommodate him. Zion doesn't have to have the ball passed to him, he just goes and gets the damn thing wherever it's at (in the air, on the backboard, on the floor, whatever) and makes a play (and that's both ways, offense, and defense). And as hard as he plays, the extra rest is bound to make him even more dominating.

Good news is, depending on matchup, we have a 7 footer on the bench that can buy minutes in the middle.

i actually think our issues are not just no Zion. When we have been really good we have had a PG who can run the team and score....Tre isnt a scorer. We need him to be that threat...15-20 a night. He averages less than 9 pts a game. If we had a shooting guard to pick up the slack then that would be ok...we dont. Teams that win the NCAA have balance scoring.... PG/SG/PF...we are heavy on the PF...even if he got to the FT line it would be good...
We used to be known for making more FT than the other team shot....when was the last time that was the case?

Very proud of the effort put forth by our team tonight. They didn't quit. Played hard under tough conditions. With Bolden going down which was unexpected Javin rose to the occasion. Thought Jack although he didn't score much played his heart out. I certainly hope Bolden's injury isn't serious. Everyone is important. You know a break or two here and a call or two we could have won this one. Our time will come. OFC

Congrats! That's more important than winning or losing any ballgame (although I would have given my left testicle to win this one:)).

Okay, now that you've admitted you're not going to be a father, I think a fair punishment for that post would be if you chop off your left testicle...you only need one anyway.:D

Duke has had five games to prepare. So your saying there is no way this Duke team can adapt without Zion.
So your ready to for go the season should Zion not return because of his production. Not to mention imo UNC plays there bench.

Not saying that at all. I'm saying he's a once or twice in a generation talent and we are way better with him. My god, we played a top 5 team in their house with two starters out and one of them is the best player in the country. Not one team in the NCAA can lose two starters and play to within 9 points of us. I really believe that

I mean, yeah, there’s concerns...even with Zion back and totally healthy. But I think a lot of people are just really overreacting. Not surprising, either...after all, we just lost to UNC, again.

What people seem to forget is how efficient Zion was himself, and for this team. We’re talking transcendent. Like, the most efficient player (by the numbers) in the history of college basketball. He’s not just a scorer or defender....he’s the best at pretty much everything. Do we win it all with him? Maybe not.....but you’re an idiot if you think someone has a better chance.

We’re not a good shooting team. I kind of feared that coming into the season, but I didn’t think we’d be this bad. I expected more consistency from Cam, and I pictured Jack and AOC being bigger factors. But we’re a better shooting team with a healthy Zion.

Time to regroup. I refuse to give up on these kids....Zion or no Zion.
