Very disappointed. Getting outscored in the second half game after game is losing some games for us. OFC

yeah. you got it sky. we are falling into a familiar pattern. getting beat in the second half. missing opportunities at the line. our big time scorers don't have the ball in their hands with the game on the line......

I have feeling we will be in a lot more nailbiters because we can score on anybody...However Matt is going to need to hit the big shot at some point, or he potentially could be a big liability at cruch time....
Just regroup and on to the next game. A lot of us are sounding like the same UNC fans we give crap to after they lose. Stay positive and support the team
Like Duke Basketball, MY SUPPORT for my team never stops!! What we did in Winston-Salem under some game pressure in last 5 minutes was phenomanal!! We played with a swagger at the end....
I think most of our problems are obviously at one end of the floor....Scoring is not a problem...
Missed the game, but read about it on this board. Wow, what a meltdown many of you had. I thought most of us knew that this team would struggle without Amile. We can beat anyone we play with the scorers we have, but we also can lose to anyone we play with the lack of post players we have. January's gonna be a roller coaster, but I think Coach K will figure it out and work on closing games out!
I missed the game too. I dare not leave page 6 of this thread to see what was said before. I urge you guys to chill and enjoy the process. I'm looking forward to turning the corner. Bad stretches and being short handed will force our star guys to look in the mirror and dig deeper. Next play.

After cooling off...... I still can't believe Matt pops that. But it's still only ONE loss. It simply means we need to get better. No panic here.
How quickly people forget how good Matt was playing prior to the last few games. Hopefully he gets out of this slump soon, which I think he will.
Prior to acc you mean, when you play better athketes vs teams tgat can play d. Matt can hit an open shot or occasional floater but duke needs more from him including rebounding
I just watched the last 3 min. What stood out to me was the crap defense on the screen and roll that gave Colson the and 1 with 30 ticks left. That's inexcusible.
I thought ND was just clicking. I thought we looked pretty good, minus team defense, which is fixable.
I think it will. With a little luck we coulda won one (or even both) of the 2 games we dropped to Clemson & ND. We're going to score points, and that will win quite a few games itself.
If K can figure out how to get just a few more quality minutes off the bench from someone not named Kennard it would certainly boost our team.

Sorry for your loss, Crazie. It's sometimes impossible to know what demons a person is battling. And yes this puts things like losing a basketball game in it's proper perspective...insignificant.

With one and dones you have to be creative. If bolden comes and allen stays, you could lose 5 players easily to the nba early. Bolden, giles, tatum, allen, kennard. Maybe even jackson. Not losing jones and thornton would really help the following years team. With all that said bolden isn't a lock and allen could jump this year, so it would be a mooo point lol.
Allen stays all 4 years...IMO. If he stays and continues with his scoring and playing he is a Top 2 pick if not 1.
By the time you're a senior you want to contribute, finish your degree, and get on with your career. I seriously don't think he would want to red shirt for some incoming freshmen. It would be hard as a coach to ask a senior who was a captain the year before to red shirt (non-injury). Just can't see something like that ever happening.
Don't disagree, but he's not going to the league, and seems like he loves duke. Very hypothetical but would he want to possibly play say 10-15 min a game next year of everything falls into place or potentially a lot more his 5th year. I see no way allen stays more than 3, but i hope you're right dadz.

Whatever anyone wants to say, If Duke, a very good foul shooting team, hits their FTs, this is a 5-0 in conf team and ranked top 5ish. Not saying we are top 5 good, but that is the case. This team is too limited to miss FTs and have luck go against to win against good in conference teams. Lets not forget the 3 that almost bounced as high as the top of the back board and went in for ND in addition to the 2 end of shot clock prayers. ND is pretty good, smart, and well coached. Not an embarrassment.
LOL....no chance, zero, that Matt redshirts next season. None. There's more of a chance Tyus returns to play for us this year than that happening.
And Grayson's draft stock probably won't be higher than it is after this season. He's never, ever going to be anything more than a late-lottery selection....even if he scores 40 per game. Do I think he leaves after this season? It's 50/50, IMO.

If allen syays how do you see jones minutes then? I wasn't saying jones would redshirt, just that it could be smart. But tough for a sr to agree to. I really think allen leaves and matt is first guard in off bench. But s allen stays wowsers.
Just got to see the game after recording it. I think we played our damn hearts out. I am proud of the effort on the offensive end. Luke, Ingram, and Grayson at the end played well. Matt taking that three and missing the two free throws certainly didn't help us, he seems to be in a slump here of late. Hopefully Matt will see the light come on again, and I think he will. What hurts, as many of you have pointed out, how many defensive rebounds we missed. The one off of the missed free throw at the end stung pretty bad. But it happens, and we have really only 6 1/2 players right now. I do wish Obi and Jeter could get something going. However, I seriously doubt that at this point. This puts the Syracuse game, an already must win(every game is), as a definite must win because of confidence reasons. We drop that one and we may see a wheel or two come off for a little while. Oh and who the hell is this "get nasty" guy? Is that you Roy? You need to stop trolling the boards Roy.
I suspect he wouldn't waste our time verbalizing non-solutions like Obi, Chase, or Vrank, or complaining about recruiting misses after the fact.
I know we don't have better solutions right now, but ks lack of big development and lesser focus on interior recruiting previous years are the main reason why. Learn from your mistakes i see mr spacey saying, and i see our interior recruiting picking up. But we shouldn't have been in this situation, you saw it coming 2 years ago.
I saw that as well. All of them were questioning K not giving minutes to Jeter and Obi just to build a little depth.
