Dukes conference realignment

Good move for James Madison which should bring more excitement for football with playing more competitive games. The Dukes has only been at the FBS level since 2022 and they are moving on up. Also, should give the program more exposure with playing football games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday instead of Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday

Sometimes I feel like this would be a good move for us to make. Less money, less problems.

The American is not really that good as a conference either. Sort of a lateral move IMO. Charlotte is horrible. Is East Carolina any better than App. State or Coastal? North Texas has been solid lately. Memphis is okay I guess. I think JMU can go in there and win that league immediately. However, it is still a Group of 6 conference and you would have the same competition questions as in the Sun Belt.

The American is not really that good as a conference either. Sort of a lateral move IMO. Charlotte is horrible. Is East Carolina any better than App. State or Coastal? North Texas has been solid lately. Memphis is okay I guess. I think JMU can go in there and win that league immediately. However, it is still a Group of 6 conference and you would have the same competition questions as in the Sun Belt.

I think I would rather watch the American Athletic Conference than the Sun Belt. I do like watching Army and Navy offense. The Tulsa and North Texas match was entertaining. Another good one was last week with Texas San Antonio and South Florida game. Earlier this season Memphis but the throwdown on Nevada Las Vegas. It is boring watching South Alabama, Louisiana Monroe and Arkansas State just to name a few in the Sun Belt. I think James Madison fans would welcome a move to American Athletic Conference.

In the last five years or so American Athletic Conferece teams have been promoted to Power Four conference (Central Florida, Cincinnati, Houston) so it is like a path to get to the power four conference.

That was the power of the American iMO. The Quality of the American has really gone down without those 3 teams. The bottom teams of the Sun Belt that you mentioned remind me of Charlotte, Temple, Florida Atlantic, and UAB.

I will admit that it is painful to watch Alabama Birmingham and Charlotte.

Do not know it this is factual, but the American Athletic Conference gives an average of seven million dollars for television revenue to each member where the Sun Belt awards an average of one million dollars to each school.
