Everyone will remember that, but the more disappointing play to me was Matthews not closing out on Nelson in the corner in a tied game with 2:30 to go. That three put Alabama in control down the stretch.

Murphy was trying to score. Matthews didn't even try to defend that shot. I love Cam, but that didn't look good.

How many wide open 3s did Youngblood make?

Jans took the blame for that 100% in the postgame show. He wanted Nelson shooting 3’s late in the game.

That’s exactly my thought as well. Couldn’t see why Murphy didn’t dunk that 17er and probably put the game on ice. Instead missed the layup that hurt.. Iike the poster pointed out on defense Cam didn’t really try to close out on that 3 ball. Both were the very difference between a win and a loss vs a top 4 team. Hubbard was great tonight scoring and those were the razor thin line between talking about us winning and they’re achievements post game instead of bragging on bama… sucks for sure

I’m the second between Murphy receiving the pass and going up for the layup, he realized that he is a Mississippi State player, and we’re not supposed to beat Alabama. The ghosts of history redirected his shot off the rim.

That play didn't end the game. We had another possession after that when we still had a chance to tie, and a fumbled handoff led to not even getting a shot off. That effectively ended the game.

Yeah. That was bad by Cam. I can’t really fault Murphy. He missed a shot. It happens. Sucks that it happened when & how it did. But without him we’re down by 10 at that point anyway. He played a great game overall.

It seems that way but honestly we fought and pretty much earned that W but didn’t t made mistakes at or near the end. I don’t know
