I really thought we would be running our goalline offense like Mullen did with Tebow, but instead we have gotten in the I and given those TD's to Ballard. I didnt think 15 TD's running and 15 throwing were that outrageous- on that, yes it appears that I was wrong.
But I'm not wrong on arm strength on Relf vs Russell- whats bad is this one isnt all that close and you arguing that is kinda funny

I don't remember what that criticism was; maybe it was arm strength, throwing motion, or something of that nature. A few people point to his suspect offer list. For the most part, Joe Sixpack will comment on Favres height and that is the basis of their reasoning: he will suck because he is short.
I have never seen the guy play. I don't know anything about him, other than the accolades he earned in HS and his impressive HS stats, but I know that stats don't always tell the entire story and I don't think he would have even been offered a scholy had the mule indeed inked with us. Either way, I'm not basing my opinion on his height.

He's 5'10" The Tiny Turnover Machine was around 5'8" in cleats. Perhaps the young Farve will gain a little height before he is ready to take the field for us in two years. I hate to label him as hopeless based on our experience with the TTM. Having said that, it is tough to be a starting QB in the SEC when you cannot see over the top of your offensive linemen. Compounding Farve's lack of height is his quirky throwing motion where he drops the ball down low then heaves it like a baseball. I foresee the kid as being a role player for us. He will play QB for us, just not as the starter. The kid may be small, but I imagine he can throw the ball as well if not better than either Relf or Russell. Don't write him off as the second coming of Tyson Lee.

of why that guy plays DB and not WR. It was a pretty pass in terms of placement for Heavens to make the catch & to keep the DB covering him from making the INT, but it was not a laser by any means & should have easily been picked off by the other player at the two yd line.
but I have seen him walking to class. Im 6 ft, and the kid isn't much shorter than me. 5 10 at the shortest. But his height doesn't matter to me. What does mean something to me is this: I have talked to a lot of people on the team, and they all seem to think the kid will be special by the end of his career. He IS the fastest QB on our team, has the best decision making skills (which we really really need), and a nothing can beat me attitude. FWIW on the height thing, he is also apparently the only QB who hasn't had a ball batted down at practice. All. Season. Long. I have no idea if he will ever do anything for us, but his teammates believe he will. Only time will tell I guess. I don't care who starts, as long as we win.
because he went to some ghetto school that ran the wishbone in Montgomery, Alabama and then he essentially lost two years of coaching with McCorvey. I think mechanics are at least in part habit. Once you have bad habits, it's hard to break. See Tim Tebow. Only difference is, Relf has three years to break his habits vs four for Tebow.

throwing the ball 50 yards down field. I have been to every home game and watched the road games on the tube and I can't recall Relf throwing any 50 yard passes. I have seen him bounce several screen passes and miss a few receivers by 30 yards, but not 50. You say that Relf is not even stepping into his passes, but you bet that he can throw it 70 yards. What makes you think that Relf has the coordination to step into his passes period? I have not witnessed him ever step into a pass and I am not sure that he has the ability to do so. Again, when and where did these 50 yard passes take place? Just curious, I must have been at the concession stand during these laser like bombs.
and i'm not comparing him to lee because of his height, or lack there of. BUT i had several friends on the team when lee showed the spring before his junior year, and was coaching baseball witha guy that coached him at Columbus and they all said the EXACT same things you just said were being talked about with favre.
