With Stagg visiting the friendly confines it opens up my schedule for a non-Brook game. Options were Montini @ MC (see if I can convince more Broncos to come home), Massillon Perry @ NN, Fenwick @ Naz, and SCN @ WN, MS @ Fremd (met a bunch of nice MS people week 1 with connections to DGS [my incognito disguise is a DGS shirt]).

At the end of the day the ESL draw and stadium10 minutes from my house and 20 mins from a Fat Ricky's pizza won out.

Oh, the game. Do the South Napervillians stand to give the Flyers a game? Do I need to make a sandba... A pregame synopsis of who should be the favorite and why?

Well Trinity would be a 2 touchdown favorite over Neuqua. ESTL beat Trinity 32-0. I think you can see it won't be close.

I just hope there is a YouTube feed again. NV fans vs ESL fans will be even more entertaining than Bat vs ESL. I wouldn’t want to ref this game. Good luck.

Yeah, Calpreps predictor is ehh at best. Not that ESL isn't the massive favorite, I just wouldn't cite Calpreps unless I was making propaganda for a game they expected my team to lose but I was confident we'd win. Thanks for the reminder actually.

And that would be the problem with all sports. Which is the reason the Ref’s take too much grief. Take control of the game I get that. but they control the outcome way too much

I’m not sure how our OL/DL will hold up. Gronowski is mobile as the QB but this will be a different level he’s facing. The only thing I have to compare is probably the first round game at Warren last year. NV couldn’t generate much O in Gurnee so I think the same will hold true tomorrow night.

Probably won’t be close.

Got some rain last night/this morning. Does the soggy grass/mud ground the flyers?

It depends if they fixed the leaky irrigation system and fixed all of the mowers.

That's the heart of a champion when your defense not playing well and you still find away to win on the road going have games like that a win is a win and i don't see nobody in the state beating ESL

I don't know if right after a 50-48 win over NV where stopping a 2pt conversion with seconds remaining was the difference in the game is the right time for this post.

I think their are a few teams that would beat them just not in 5A. If you give up 48 points that says something about their defense.

I knew it would be a dog fight; two weeks of those kids listening to guys like you tell them they can’t be beat. My friend! you barely made it out of town, and you’re not humbled?... should we cancel the playoffs and just send the trophy to East St. Louis? I don’t think so...

Let’s not forget ESL had a couple of touchdowns called back. If they would have counted how close would it have been. The Flyers will make some corrections

I will say this Nequa should make some noise in 8 A if they tighten up their defense a little too

Agree 100% ESL will be judged by what they do n the playoffs and teams have bad games show me a team that don't and i have a bridge to sell you bottom line they still got the win

Agree. I don’t think, however, that Neuqua will see that kind of offensive talent anywhere in 8A. Just an incredible amount of firepower for the Flyers.

Naperville’s NC-17 highlights. I didn’t realize that Lovett was the punter. He’s got a little smoke in his shoes.

Whoa! Talk about some big plays! That entire game seemed like it was all highlights! And yeah, Lovett is a special player. I imagine that the Belleville West coach has got be just sick about him transferring to ESL. I wonder if he'll be as vocal about it as the Belleville East coach was about Witherspoon transferring to ESL.

I was wondering which kid was the BW transfer. He is amazing.

That diving TD grab by the other WR was as good as you will see. I didn’t think there was any way he could get to that ball.

East Coach didn’t know who Witherspoon was. The BND (criddle) pushes for that reaction. Witherspoon only played varsity in one game and got 4 carries.

As far as West goes, had Pettus leaving played a major role in Lovetts departure. Pettus had a great relationship with that kid and everyone knew it.
