Julie Gilbert aka Xena Reb. Just because she should have already won one, but the award wasn't around when she was truly deserving. Maybe she can get a lifetime achievement award. Plus has a female ever been nominated for this award? If not she would surely be a good first female for this award.
I also have a firsthand account of her and her husband's doucheness (besides the NCAA related rumors which I have heard but do not have personal knowledge of). During the 2003 SEC basketball tournament in NOLA when Mario Austin's last team lost in the finals against Kentucky I had the pleasure of sitting next to her entire family; she, her husband and her two kids were decked out in Kentucky gear from head to toe, with flashing blue earrings for the kids even.
I didn't know who she was at the time I saw her picture with her husband a week later in the Northside Sun and instantly recognized them.
I can get cheering for Kentucky to spite MSU, (don't agree with it but its understandable). I just find it funny they had to deck out their entire family in Kentucky gear to do so. Now this may not seem too bad, but keep in mind we played LSU in the semifinals the day before that Kentucky game and guess what Ole Miss's most obsessive family was dressed in for that game? That's right they were dressed head to toe in LSU tiger gear purple and gold from head to toe. I'm sorry I would certainly never dress head to toe in Alabama gear to cheer against Ole Miss.
Its not they were even cheering that hard FOR Kentucky or LSU, they were just cheering as loud as they could against MSU. Classic haters. Every single time Mario went to the line her husband would yell out "GO TO CLASS!!!" I laughed and reminded them that if he was in a Rebel uniform he would be an academic all american I'm sure.
Anyway today's Veazey link reminded me of this occurence. I hope the lawsuit has hurt her at least as much as Jackie was by her alleged dealings with the NCAA and PI's and such...
