1. I don't think we will win, but Auburn doesn't scare me.

2. Marshall is nothing special. Good on his feet, strong arm, but inaccurate and not a great decision maker. He also doesn't have a dependable target. In the past there's been a go to guy like Blake or Lutzenkirchen or Darvin Adams. This team doesn't have one, but we seem to have a way of helping other teams find their go to guy.

3. I don't think Auburn can run on us a lot between the tackles. The O-line is decent but not great. Mason and CAP are strong runners though, and not likely to fall down on first contact. What scares me more is Corey Grant on the jet sweeps. We saw how weak our edges were when OSU started stretching things out. Think back to Gus's offense in 2009 and 2011 (without Cam). He had Onterrio McCalebb running sideline to sideline and Tate or Dyer pounding things between the hashes. Same concept, different guys.

4. Auburn could help us out a lot of they don't get their penalty situation under control. Five in the first game, and nine more Saturday night. We also have 14 in two games, but 11 of ours were against OSU. At least we are trending in the right direction.

5. Owens, Blackson, Adams, Wright, etc on their D-line have to be licking their chops. Absolutely the key to the game in my mind - our OL vs their DL. If we don't see some guys make massive improvements, we're gonna struggle, and not just in this game.

6. The ever important special teams is a good matchup. Baker has been the more consistent punter but Clark can boom one at any point. Both teams have dynamic KOR men, so that's a wash too. But Parkey is as dependable as they come as a FG kicker. And Bell....well...he's Bell. You just never know what you're getting there.

7. J-H has been as dead a place as I have ever seen it the first two games. I didn't go to WSU, but everyone talked about it afterwards. Saturday I saw it for myself. There's nothing there at this point in time to be intimidated by. I don't know/care what they reported as attendance, but there weren't more than 75,000 people there. An SEC game will be different I know, but it's a long way from the J-H of recent years.

Bottom line, it's a game we CAN win, but I doubt we WILL win. Auburn will make just enough plays, and they'll cover the -6 fairly easily, something like 27-17.

Not sure I've seen a more true statement ever posted.

Man I agree 100%, and specifically on the following points:

In the past there's been a go to guy like Blake or Lutzenkirchen or Darvin Adams. This team doesn't have one, but we seem to have a way of helping other teams find their go to guy.

I thought this would be their biggest weakness as well. Lack of BIG-TIME playmakers. Damn I was happy to see Blake, Lutz and McCalebb graduate.

Yep, I remember McCalebb just straight ripping us up in 2009. There's a youtube video out there called Auburn cut-ups vs. Miss State or something, and it outlines it very clearly.

Bottom line, it's a game we CAN win, but I doubt we WILL win. Auburn will make just enough plays, and they'll cover the -6 fairly easily, something like 27-17.

As always, for some reason, they have a 'knack' for being in the right place at the right time, catching deflected balls, etc. We could have career days vs. them but they'll win on some flukey pick-6 or special teams play.

Only thing that gives me hope is that our defenses in 2009 and 2011 were headed up by incompetent coaches. Maybe Collins can shut the sideways zig-zagging stuff down like Manny did in 2010. Can't compare last year because they were just terrible. Denico Autry is going to have to get his head out of his *** for this one.

Sadly I'm afraid #5 will be a common liability for most SEC games throughout the season - our OL vs. their DL.

I think auburns dl vs our ol isn't that big an advantage for them. Auburn has given up 120 (wsu)and 148 (asu) yards rushing. Wsu followed that up with 7 rushing yards against USC.

Auburn has also given up over 400 yards in both games. Again wsu had 222 total yards against USC.

I'm not saying our oline will dominate, but I think they'll be able to play with auburn

Hope you're wrong. This is a must win game for us, or the bowling picture gets ugly--and fast. We would have to beat all out of Troy, Bowling Green, and Kentucky (85% chance), and if we can't take one of SC, LSU, ATM and Bama (75% chance), we need to beat both of Arkansas (on the road) and OM to get to 6 (less than 50/50 chance), and probably play in the Tidy Bowl. Beat Auburn, and I think our team CAN beat one of the Big 4 and sweep the little guys, and beat at least one of Arky or OM to comfortably get to 7.

Having to beat 3 of OM, Arky(on the road), LSU, ATM, SC and Bama would be a nightmare.

GOT to have this one.

Time for the Relf offense. We found ways to win with that joke of an offense, so why not with Dak who is much more skilled. Our OL should be able to open enough holes to wear the DL down with some standard boring Mississippi State offense. When Dak is in I would like to see him keep it more often. Yes it would be awesome to see a formation with Dak, LDP, and Shump all in, but that's not gonna happen. Nothing to say about when Tyler is in... He's had his chances to prove himself.

Kentucky is terrible, Arkansas is bad, auburn hasn't showed me ****.

But as always, the sky is falling.
