So since the theory goes that West Coast teams are largely ignored and unknown due to lack of exposure from the time difference being one factor, will UT and the others joining finally end that theory?
Or will the bias carry on and actually hurt UT and the others?
Id say the theory is quite real...the west coast in general and the Pac10 specifically has terrible exposure in terms of TV. They are on Fox Sports regionally and a few ESPN games here and there for basketball and football.
Hell, it seemed like nobody had heard of Toby Gerhart until late last season!
So will the additions to the conference finally make the conference relevant on a national stage in terms of viewership and press?
I would hope so, but i could actually see the bias continuing for the WC teams as a whole and the MW teams in the conference continuing to receive more press just like before they switched.
