Attended the Jamboree last night at JM Robinson and have never seen a coach act out like the East Mecklenburg coach did. He didn’t agree with a call and actually threw a football from the field at the visitor side stands.

How he didn’t get thrown out I don’t know. I feel for those young men having to play for this gentleman.

I remember when they were once a great program in the mid to late 70s and they always seemed to beat Richmond non conference back then. They have simply disappeared from contention, you rarely if ever hear anything about them.

Also solid in the late 2000s but fell off a cliff after that.

Butler opened in 97, I know they took a nice chunk of Indy and East Meck was still decent. I remembered they redid the zones around mid 2000s and I think that took a bunch of East Mecks kids. I was closer to Independence but I went to Butler, when that shift happened my home school was East Meck. I got to stay at Butler because I was a rising senior. It didn’t make sense.

East was in rough shape right before Butler opened in 97 but they got better in the 2000s. I’m not sure how the maps changed in 07 or 10 but they actually lost a couple of their better players to Butler in 2010 rezoning. Their best years after that were a couple 6/7 win seasons under Shufford.

I was there last Friday also and I couldn't understand what he was so upset about. He slung his headphones off then was pointing at the ball while he was talking to the refs. He didn't like what they said I guess then hurled the ball behind the visitors stands. Plus the small fight at the end didn't help matters either.
