Officiating was not top notch in this game, but, it had zero impact on the outcome of the game. Our offense has been anemic at times during this season, ESL flat out stopped it and our offense did not over come that.

Regardless of how well our defense played, our special teams or great effort of our kids, that was the simple and only relevant fact. ESL won, saying anything else is just taking away from their accomplishment.

Clean hard hitting game - no personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties, a few holding, offsides, and pass interference calls - but nothing out of the usual - seemed equal for both teams.

Flyers won and can look forward to a state championship game. Red Wings lost and can look forward to the weight room , final exams, and replacing a 17 of 22 starters next year.

I'm just used to Althoff's offense.

(You can't say they are just basketball players. They did well.)

Against 4A defense? Are you really comparing 4A defense to 7A? Phillips last year was close to 7A defense and it didn't go so well for Althoff.

bottom line, great season for the redhawks. Flyer is a great team, can't complain losing to them, and the game was no absolute blowout by any means.
