East side, West side

Was just looking through the interactive seating thing and noticed that similarly located seats on the West side are much more expensive -- up to 4 times as much ... as those on the East. Why is that?

Also, all seats on the East side (with the exception of one of the Faculty sections, which is free) cost $135. The east side seats seem to be the best deal in town ... potentially 50 yard line seats for about $20/game/seat, plus the ticket cost.

Sun, proximity to tailgating/parking areas, renovated concourse, home side.

But mostly sun.

But the CL and Suites are on the east. And they get plenty of sun (I can attest to that). They have the same drawbacks as the rest of the east side, yet ....

A game in September that starts at about 6:30 is brutal until the sun is finally blocked by the west side.

Yeah, stick to the west. (Crossing my fingers we don't get screwed from our seats we've had for years now).

Yes, but the endless cocktails and convenient bathroom overrule any sun issues,

heck we rarely play during the day anyway.

I've been debating whether I want to keep seats on the west side if I'm able to get ~50 yardline seats on the east side.

I've been section 6 for years and figure I'll have a chance to get somewhat better seats (my BDC ranking is 2000 spots higher from when I got my current seats). It would be hard to pass up 45 yard line seats in section 20 and take goalline seats in section 6.

The sun would suck... but is that a big enough problem to choose substantially worse seats?

We seem to play a lot of day games during September when it's still hot, then go to night games when the weather turns cold. Or maybe those day games are more memorable since the sun's hitting everybody right in the face and you can't see a darn thing that's going on on the field.

I realize you jest to an extent, but I couldn't care less about the endless cocktails (wish they'd follow the University/State laws of no alcohol on campus, actually), and the bathrooms are crowded during break times, just like they are everywhere else. And the elevators are almost impossible to use after the game, unless you leave early.

You're lucky we've had all the reseating discussions, and that you're picking late. Now, your (perceived) understanding of the process enables you to change seats if you want to, whereas those of us who had to choose early don't have that option. We did, but some of us (at the very least, me) didn't realize we had it. Basically, I could run to the 50 from my corner end zone seat in CL, jump over the waist-high wall, save over $3000 a year and have much better seats. I could bring my own little chairback like lots of people do, or rent one from the University.

I'd go to the east side if I were you. Being able to see the game in correct perspective on the 50 is worth way more than the sun being in your face on occasion. Pray for cloudy September day games.
