The game is at Starmount and it’s Homecoming. Probably one of the top games in the state regardless of class.

Both teams have had this game circled since the schedules came out.

I expect a tough hard fought game but I'm afraid that the Rams are gonna lose this game. I don't think they have improved like I was anticipating.

Starmount will not win this game if the play calling isn't better than what it was in the first half today.

We got to find a way to quit with the killer penalties and turnovers. 3 turnovers Friday night against west and had 3 tds called back last week against North. You cant win big ball games with things like this.

That's really how it should be. Especially considering these schools have rubber tracks now.

Having parents and spectators up on the sidelines can be a problem and nightmare. Especially with as crazy as folks are these days.

Yes. All Wilkes schools are redone with a fence barrier to keep you back away from the field.

Well that sucks. I wish schools didn't have tracks around them keeping you far away...if a parent or spectator wants to come to sideline bad enough that short barrier and track isn't going to keep them from coming lol

But makes easier to press charges if they go somewhere they shouldn't be

If you can't take getting yelled at then u shouldn't sign up to be a coach i used to love fence walking...now I have to go to va games to do that lol

The problem is people don't know how to yell anymore without getting out of hand or making threats. Not saying you'd do that but plenty of people sure will these days.

But just because you're a coach doesn't mean you should be yelled at.

If we have the same refs we did against West. You can just go out on the field and yell at them as much as you want with no repercussions, just ask the west coaching staff.

Could East Wilkes spoil Starmount Homecoming? I could see this game going either way. Score prediction 24-16

I honestly don't like this matchup for Starmount. From a style perspective, I think EW will cause them some problems.

You know, matchups is something many often overlook. Everyone is quick to compare scores and say since team A beat team b by 20, and then team B beat team c by 20, team A is going to destroy team c. In cases that certainly holds up, but matchups often play a larger role than many think.

If this game was played in the rain and mud, give me Starmount by 3 tds. On turf, small quick/speedy guys running all over the place for EW could be a nightmare for the Rams.

Not sure we are talking about dissimilar teams… im not so sure where people see the rams as having a stable of big workhorse plodding backs.. they have backs of similar size and make up as EW last time i checked… the offenses are vastly different… the qb’s are vastly different… but there are some similarities as well in their backfields.. i would give the overall speed in the backfield advantage to EW… but will it make the difference…. We shall see…. The Rams are traditionally tough on D!!

I agree with Deacs. Starmount's Achilles is the offense right now. We all know Pardue will have the defense ready. I hope Adams is back on Friday night. We desperately need his speed and toughness. I don't think there will be a player on the field faster than him Friday night.

Who knows what the offense is gonna look like. Deuce will need to have a big game with his legs and arm. I would run some triple option with Propst and Hernandez in this game and see if they can stop the physical running.

EW also fast up front on both sides of ball.

How’s special teams? Starmount’s Rodriguez is almost an automatic touchback and averaging 44 yards per punt.

I mean, the Hernandez kid and the Propst kid are basically fullbacks. I would be surprised if Hernandez can break 5 seconds in the 40 yard dash. He has good vision and is tough to tackle but he isn't a threat to get out on the edge and make a house call from 80 yards out. I don't have a clue what their height and weights are, but the style of running is definitely "workhorse" like.

Yeah i forgot about seeing those bigger kids in the scrimmage at Central… im gonna beg to differ and say that all four of those guys that were on the 4x200 track relay team that won the state championship for EW would be faster than the Adams kid… He will not be the fastest kid on the field.. that may go to Nash from EW..but… both teams should be really fast on the field.

If the rams have to punt a few times they might be in trouble. Punt stats are nothing to brag about.. that being said I know all 3 phases are extremely important but come on now haha

And..all 4 of those kids will be on the field Friday night.

Better kick it out the back of the end zone then if you dont want Nash or Dobbins returning it.
